I love that feeling when a new game totally takes over game time. This happened this week with DPS Idle, a free-2-play autobattler. Who knew? It swept the field of everything else mentioned below. 

Jumping around quite a bit trying new things on Xbox One. 

South Park: The Stick of Truth triumphed over adversity to become a critical and commercial success. It was a gamble on a franchise that had never had a great game, went through a protracted development cycle, and survived the closing of its original publisher. Three years later South Park: The Fractured but Whole may not have had as many roadblocks, but it is a sequel to a surprise hit being developed by a different team and attempting to be just as successful as its predecessor. While it may not reach the heights that The Stick of Truth hit, this is a worthy sequel.

Ya ever think you would see those 2 games in title together? I sure as hell wouldnt. However I did beat 2 games this month and sense I havent been in great health mental wise I decided to take some great advice from one of out lovely bloggers here*Thanks Knight!* and make it easier for myself. Im just gonna give each one a paragraph and call it done. Hopefully November is a better month. I only got 2 more games to beat guys, Im at 10.

We recorded Nerds Without Pants last night. It is a great show, even though there are some technical difficulties, and I hope you’ll give it a listen when it drops next Wednesday. For the Stage Select topic, Angelo wanted us to select our top three video game intros. This was a difficult task, and I had been thinking about it for the entire two weeks before finalizing my picks. We all picked some awesome games, but of course we could have gone for hours on this one subject. So I thought it would be fun to talk about just a few of the games that almost made my list.

I couldn't come up with an alliteration for both Friday and something game-themed except fragging, flanking, and I'm not really a huge shooter gamer, so ....

Damn.  My plan was to do 2 blogs a month and it's been months since I wrote 1 blog.  I've been pretty busy lately.  If I'm not working, I'm busy with other stuff (family, friends, games, movies, sleeping, etc).  I tried hitting up the site a few times and didn't get to visit much.  I'm having a few pc issues.  I'll just have to get a new one next year if I can come up with the money.  The reason I've been working so much is that I'm saving up money for my wife's maternity leave from her job.  Yes, we are having another baby.  Child number 6!   We're hoping for another girl, since we already have 4 boys.  But, whatever happens is fine.  Anyway, on with the games...

I know I'm a tad late getting this in, but I've been seriously busy at work...I'm on a 10-day stretch currently, with Wednesday being my day off, pending.

is Guilty Gear X2 #Reload. It could have been Stick of Truth, but Can You Run It was not so confident in my computer running that one and to be honest, I'm not the best when it comes to RPGs, South Park skinned or no.

Who gee! What did I play this year. So many games! I'll stick to what just came out this year and split this up into three parts: Regrets, Bought but Forgot, and Played. It'll all wind up with the last entry being my Game of the Year, or Goaty as I like to say it (yes I know it's actually GOTY).

Hello Pixlbit.  Under my current circumstances, I'm not working and I'm not playing, so I have plenty of time to put up a blog.  I may even have enough time to work on a 2nd blog and post it in a week or 2.  Do I dare?  

After finishing Sleeping Dogs and South Park: The Stick of Truth, I was a bit up in the air as to what to play next. Mount Backlog is very high, like Mt Everest proportions, so too much choice was the issue. But, inspiration came from Goztecs (Thanks, Chris!) and I settled on LEGO Batman in a shorter timespan than normal after finishing off a game. I'm always perpetually late to the party, this game's been out since 2008 and I started it once, a long time ago, and never got past the beginning part of the second level. I can now say I have not only finished it, but completed it 100% and I'm only lacking the Sidekick achievement to 100% the achievements, too. I could cheat and do it myself with a second controller, but I think I'll invite my friend Michael over for some co-op gaming and get it then.

Happy Thanksgiving, Pixlbit Nation! I'm currently thankful for all the utility workers and plow truck drivers who got my electricity back on and have cleared the roads so I can go have Thanksgiving dinner with Jason's family. According to the National Weather Service, Portland got a bit over seven inches of snow yesterday, but I think we may have gotten a bit more in Freeport. It was heavy and wet, and we were having 45 mile per hour winds to go with it, so lots of power outages. I was watching Netflix when it started flickering here, and jumped up and shut off all the electronics and then unplugged the power strips. It went out completely at 10:30, so I lit a couple of candles and dug out the flashlights and read for a while by the light of my trusty flashlight before going to bed. I also dug out my 0 degree (that's 0 Fahrenheit, for all you metric people. It's -18 C) sleeping bag just in case, because no electricity means no heat in my humble abode. Didn't need to use it, but it was down to 55 degrees in the cottage when the power came back on a little after 2 AM. I know both what time it was and the temp, because I forgot to turn off all the lights. I also had to reset the thermostat on the heater, because every time the power blips, it resets to 50 degrees. The power must have gone off again between 2 and 6:15, because the thermostat was back to 50 again, and it was 58 degrees when I woke up.

Instead of sitting here typing this, I should be looking for gainful employment for the winter, but I'm having a hard time getting going on that. The places I wouldn't mind working aren't hiring and the others all fall under the category of "I'd rather stab myself in the eye with a fork than work there". I'm going to have to suck it up here shortly, though. In the meantime, I'm doing yard work for my landlady. Not bringing in any money, but making her happy. And the yard looks nicer.

I haven't done one of these in forever! Oh, wait, I didn't blog at all for, what, six months? Something like that, anyway. Sooo....here's what I've been up to:

I had grand plans for the weekend. I was going to be productive - get some housecleaning done, go do some laundry, get my resume finished, and start applying for jobs. I was going to go to Portsmouth on Saturday for the sea music sing, too, but that didn't happen, either.

Last Friday, one of the worst (yet most productive) summer work sessions concluded at my school district just in time for the next school year (which should start Aug. 18). Somehow against the odds - less help than previous summers, a shorter summer due to the snow days, and numerous construction jobs getting in our way - we finished all the floor work, carpet cleaning and detail work. I hope we're in better shape next year. I liked the day shift hours (not so much the extra money I had to shell out for breakfast or lunch; I only need two meals during the school year) although I rarely took advantage of it to go anywhere aside from gaming or watching movies.

Bored on a Friday night, so I figured that while my son monopolizes the living room telly with his addiction to the Wild Kratts cartoon, I'd catalogue my exploits thus far in the year.  Submitted for your approval, PixlBitches.  Bigups to Snee; he taught me that the term PixlBitches is indeed, viable.

I played a lot of games this first quarter. The first quarter always feels the second wind for the holiday season of games. This one was no different. March was especially stacked with big games like Dark Souls 2, Titanfall, and Infamous 2.

Final Fantasy to me was the last great Final Fantasy title to be released. It was an emotional tale and incredible journey. I have to say going back to it, I was a bit put off with the dialogue which was pretty cheesy at times. With that said, I could forgive it for its translation and it being an older game that doesn't have the quality of voice acting like today's standards.
