Another mega-batch of games as I forge ahead and try to wrap up my 360 revisit. I'll stick with the physical games first.

Physical

Culdcept Saga - The level, Colosseum III, was to release me from slavery, but instead it put me back in chains until I try it again. You play against two AI players in this one, and it took a looooong time to complete - over 60 rounds and 2 hours! All that just to cement my defeat. Well, it was fun anyway and you get some new cards even in defeat. There are so many card types and factors involved in any battle, that I sometimes forget something. The AI never forgets though; although, they do act dumb when fighting each other. What up with that? I wish there was a board game version.

Kinect Disneyland Adventures - I tried to get the Kinect to work with this but failed. It seems I had to stand and 6 feet away for it to recognize me, and I wasn't up for that (standing, that is). I've beaten this game every which way on its digital version with the Kinect controls removed. Maybe another time for the Kinect version - very disappointed.

Crackdown 2 - It's just as fun as the first one, imo. I mistakenly left the game open to all players not thinking it mattered, but seconds in a real player appeared and tried to mess with the new unleveled character I had created. Had this person been level 0 like me, I might have tried to cooperate, but what is a maxed out player going to do with a new one? Cause trouble, that's what. So I stopped, although I could've just turned online play off. I looked at the several orb types I never got achievements for (roving and driving) and decided it would be way too much work. I was tempted to replay the whole game again, though, and will probably do so another time.

Disney Infinity - I discovered the portals are console specific, so an Xbox One portal will not work on a Xbox 360. Good thing I have like three or four of these things. I don't have all the figures but a good selection of them. I played as Buzz Lightyear in his space world for a time trying to max level him for an achievement. Then I realized that, according to the game, I didn't own the figure. What? I guess since I'm probably on a different 360 it thinks I'm not the same owner? In any case, to gain ownership I have to wipe its memory and all that XP. This first game in the series gives you XP fairly slowly, which is why I don't have the level 15 achievements. You get to about level 10 just playing through the campaign areas. There are ways to power level using vehicles in the Toy Box area, and I messed with that a little bit, but it still takes some tedious, not fun, time. Anyway, I made all my "guest" figures owned by me with this system (only a few were seen as mine) and another time I might play through the levels again. They are fun collect-a-thons with minor platforming and race challenges.

Earth Defense Force 2017 - So, I initially had some problem with my cloud save and had to start anew with a hard drive save. I got through 10 levels on normal before my cloud saves came back on and I loaded my older run. With this save, I had all 53 levels done on Easy, Normal and Hard, and a few on Hardest and Inferno as well. I kept trying levels on Hardest and Inferno, got a few, but was mostly destroyed on a lot of them. I recall getting a lot of the higher difficulties playing co-op with MK. The game seems designed for co-op. Solo play only gets you so far. Man, was it fun to fight giant robots again with rockets as they step over you though. Great visuals!

Silent Hill HD Collection - Man, I want to like this game so much! This is Silent Hill 2 and 3. I played 2 for a while. I love the mist, the interesting camera angles and overall presentation, but the controls. Dear lord, why the tank controls? I found movement and the changing camera angles as you move really clumsy and disorienting. Not to mention, I couldn't get to Silent Hill this time. I kept running down the trail to the cemetery and maintenance area over and over without knowing what I was missing. I've passed this area in previous plays. Not sure what I'm missing. It just bothers me the dissonance between visuals (awesome) and game-play (terrible). It's like the worst sort of tease.

Purchases

Dragon's Crown (PS3 $20) - I had to have a PS3 version to play soon. The remaster will wait until PS4 time.
Assault Heroes 2 (XBLA $5) - Got it on the Xbox app and downloaded it to my 360. This is a top-down, twin-stick shooter featuring vehicles, but also on-foot and flying segments in both 2D and 3D.
Sacred 3 (PS3 $15) - Even though Sacred fans dislike this game, I kind of loved it, especially when MK and I played it co-op. It's more an action RPG then previous games in the series and has some memorably ridiculous dialog I want to hear again. "Shatter-Jack! Destroy them!" The main villain sounds like Monarch from the Venture Bros.
Diablo III Ultimate Evil Edition (PS3 $12) - There are some games I'm just keen to replay on multiple systems and this is one of them. I can't wait to start from 0 all over again after playing it so much on Xbox.

I think I'll make a second blog of the digital titles as this will get very long if I don't. So until next time, UP, UP AND AWAY!

I think the problem I had with Disney Infinity was they missed the point on what makes toys to life games fun. You couldn't play with each of the toys all the time. For instance, Incredibles characters couldn't play in the Pirates of the Caribbean world.

I love me some Dragon's Crown. My favorite is the Amazon for some reason.

Yeah, exactly. I wanted to use Sorcerer's Apprentice Mickey in everything but you could only use him in the Toy Box. Booooo! Also, Donald Duck.

Such weird distortions used on those characters in Dragon's Crown. I love it.

Yeah the proportions of the characters in Dragon's Crown aren't very realistic, but that's OK. It's a video game so let them do that. I just imagine the Amazon ate a can of spinach.
