And now the digital titles I revisited this week.

360 Digital Downloads

Exit - 2D action-puzzle game where you escape from burning buildings with a time limit. This sounds like an immediate, "not for me", but maybe it's the neat, angular graphics that made me a fan. This time, I got a bit annoyed at the slightly finicky controls. Running and jumping at the right moment is a tad annoying since there's only one right way to do it. I do enjoy it though and have the game on DS now. I think it would be fantastic on handheld.

Assault Heroes 2 - I finished this in a very reasonable amount of time and enjoyed it. It's a twin-stick shooter. You pilot vehicles like a car, tank, mech and helicopter in the top-down segments. You also go on foot at times. Then there are some flight levels both in 2D and in 3D. Pretty fun!

Costume Quest - I, unfortunately, have done all the achievements in this game. I wonder if I could play it on Playstation for trophies?

Scott Pilgrim vs The World - This seemed to start as an excellent 2D brawler like Streets of Rage with a little River City Rampage feel, but I absolutely couldn't stand the movement controls. Why does your character jump whenever you move up or down on the screen? It's infuriating!

Commanders: Attack of the Genos - Any Advance Wars clone is gonna be bought by me, absolutely. This is fine but AI is unfair in the extreme. I always wish I could break open these games and change the code to my liking. Can't I do that?

Crimson Alliance - This is an action RPG designed for multiplayer, but I've previously beaten it solo with some help from MK here and there. I went after some achievements which I didn't get. Then I realized that each of the four characters have to be bought to allow achievements. I have the Mage from years ago, but the rest are probably not even available anymore. Fun game though.

Serious Sam 3 BFE - This is a weird Serious Sam game that I could never quite stomach. It plays a little more like a standard shooter and doesn't give you much to use in the first set of levels. How am I supposed to take down hoards of suicide bombers with nothing but a pistol and a sledgehammer? This series is all about firepower and a lot of it. Such a strange edition to the series.

Call of Duty Classic - This was the first, PC only, CoD game put to consoles for the first time. WWII era. It looks fantastic and plays great. I played on a harder difficulty for achievements and, just like you would in real life, got dead really quick. I gave it the old multiple respawns before moving on though. It looked too good not to.

TimeShift - A FPS I played a long time ago and couldn't really get into this time. I mean, there's some kind of time reversal element in it later in the game, but I was just not up to the challenge this week. Something basic about the combat annoyed me. Sometimes you just get a feeling.

The Cave - I loved this DoublFine action/puzzle game way back and completed all the achievements. Too bad. I should look for it on PlayStation to play it again for rewards (not Cave Story, btw. Different game).

Ticket to Ride - I still have that achievement for number of Ranked wins I never got. It was glitched and now I don't think I can play it online anymore. At least not on 360.

Alien Breed 1 and 3 - Twin-stick shooters that feel like top-down view Dead Space. It's a dark dash through spaceship corridors full of alien creatures. I love the vibe and the gameplay. I went after the Alien Breed 3 achievements for 5 kills with both stun and frag grenades but could not get more than 4 in any situation even after I had upgraded my grenade range and damage. I felt like the system was keeping me from them because there were so many situations of getting mobbed by enemies that I should've gotten these achievements. Ah well. It's a fun series remade from an old PC game from the 90s.

Costume Quest 2 - For some reason, I haven't finished this game yet? I must've only played a few hours of it before. That was good because I was all set to run the whole game before getting stuck trying to get into Dr. White's factory. I must've scoured the city streets like a street cleaner but couldn't find that last costume piece that likely enables me to use the zip line to the factory. Well, something to do another time, I guess. I'm not looking it up. Along with no-respawns, no look-ups this year.

Band of Bugs - An old NinjaBee tactics game with bugs. I like it but it gets difficult rather quickly. I did get the achievement for pushing an enemy into water this time though. There's nothing like a new achievement on an old game.

Vandal Hearts: Flames of Judgement - A remake of an older Vandal Hearts tactical RPG game. As usual with these games, they get difficult to the point of frustration. Why do I play these games, anyway?

Purchase

Ticket To Ride: London ($5 Goodwill) - I'm collecting board games I like and expansions to board games are also wanted. I have the main game, Europe and London now, all dirt cheap.

I'll see you later with a song by AC/DC: "Dirty Deeds, Done Dirt Cheap".

I need to play The Cave. I bought it when it released and proceeded to never even start it. I think that was on the Wii U, but I'm sure I got it on PC at some point.

I usually find puzzle based games annoying, but I loved this one. Each character has his/her skills you might need to solve a problem. Choose wisely, wise chosen one.

I wish I wouldn't have missed out on Exit. It was made by Taito, and future games from them would have the Exit character as a cameo.

Believe it or not, I didn't like Costume Quest, Cave, or Scott Pilgrim as much as I thought I would.

Exit and Exit 2 are fun, and I like rescue scenarios.
