Hey everyone. Today's going be another short one. Tomorrow is the big day, the start of EVO 2013 although its coming off a slightly depressing note. Capcom was hit off with some layoffs today including Christian Svensson, VP at Capcom USA (although Svensson left voluntarily). Svensson was a very vocal advocate for the fighting game community as well as many other franchises at Capcom. I wish him and everyone else who was affected and hope the can get back on their feet.

Today, let's talk about something a bit more positive. Let's talk about hype. EVO have some much hype right now its crazy. Hype drives EVO as well as much of competitive scene. Whether its between bitter rivals, the best players of the game, or new vs. old its just plain fun. Don't believe me? Check out this match from Ultimate Marvel Vs. Capcom 3?

Or this one?

Or this?

Or how about this one!?

Not impressed? Fine. You leave me with no choice. If you're not feeling hyped from this match, then you have no SOUL!

See, hype is everywhere and anyone can make hype! And starting tomorrow, its only going to get even hype-er. What makes you hyped for fighting games? Leave your response down below. See you tomorrow!

The only two fighting games I'm any good at are Dead Or Alive 4 and Soul Calibur (all of them) but I do like trying. Who could not be impressed and simply amazed by the lovely Kayane? That was pretty incredible. I don't know how people pull off such tricky combos.

Kayane is one of my favorie pro players. She's really awesome.

damn they have their fighter sticks and everything. And a lot of people!  I guess this thing is pretty dang serious!

Yeah people can get really serious about fighting. Some people think arcade sticks have better advantages than pads and vice versa.

So do you go to this tournament or do you just watch from the sidelines on the Internet?
