So like a dumb ass a while back I traded a bunch of games for a hard to find NIS game but in the process I traded games I wish I hadnt I mean im glad I got to get Cross Edge in mint condition I really miss some games I started but never got far into them, so in my last blog I mentioned I wish I had Xcom the Bureau so today I found Xcom and Heavy Rain and couldnt resist.
Remember in 2010 when publisher 2K Games announced its contribution to the traditionally strategy-focused XCOM franchise? And that it was a first-person shooter? And then everyone lost their minds because that was one of the most baffling genre shifts possible?
The Bureau: XCOM Declassified is not that game.

This title from developer 2K Marin, which takes players back to 1962 and the founding of the top-secret alien-busting XCOM organization. It ditches the series’ usual overhead view and turn-based tactics in favor of a more action-centric cover-based shooter with squad management and strategic elements. Other than the fact that you’re still fighting aliens, and a little shield icon indicates cover, The Bureau strays pretty far from the well-tested and beloved XCOM formula.
So I started Heavy Rain awhile back and although the controls are whacked I still wanted it so I got it today as well.

The Director’s Cut will include the full original game as well as that one and only DLC, behind-the-scenes game videos, the original soundtrack and a lot more.

Like I said the controls are odd but the game is awesome and im excited to get these two again and by the way I had the 360 version of the Bureau but got the ps3 version late!! =-)
i liked HEavy Rain quite a bit. it was unusual.
Everyone told me about it so I had to get it and will start it after xcom of course.
I hated The Bureau...bout as far from XCOM as you can get. I hope you have a better time with it than I did Lee! I never got to play Heavy Rain. Any good?
Alot of people didnt like it for that reason but once you learn that its Xcom zoomed in you can apreciate what they did here.
Still want to get into Xcom myself. I'm usually not the greatest at real time strategy games but I really love the sci-fi/X-files/conspiracy theory/Independence day vibe that permeates the whole series.
Its pretty fun. I sucked at it....but it was fun
Xcom is a turn based strategy game not a rts and once you figure out how to play its like crack lol!!! Not that I know anything about crack lol!!
I bought Heavy Rain awhile back. I still hadn't played it.
The controls are weird as hell once I start playing it I will figure it out but for now its Xcom lol!!
I remember when the Bureau was first talked about. I thought it was going to be an open-world 3rd person shooter like Destroy All Humans! and got all excited. Nope.
It's a fps version of Xcom Enemy Within or unknown just zoomed in to a first person perspective and thats why I like it and im having a blast with it I might add.
The Bureau is 3rd person, if I remember correctly. ...?
Yes you are correct duuuur not sure why I said fps lol!!!!
I might try Bureau sometime, but I still haven't got to XCOM EW.
You know its funny cause im not a big sci fi fan I mean Mass Effect was ok and I need to get DarkStar One again but short of that im not into it but Xcom im obsessed with so go figure probably because that was what I played mostly when it first came out in the 90s.
At some point I will play Heavy Rain. I bought that version I think a year ago, and just never got around to playing it. At this rate, the games I bought over the past couple of months I won't play for another year.
