My most recent gaming acquisition is the PS4 version of Mortal Kombat X. As some of you may know, I'm a big Mortal Kombat fan and this game didn't disappoint. For an arcade fighting game, it's packed with more content than a sizable number of adventure games, featuring all the traditional Tower, Test Your Might, Test Your Luck, and other challenges. All of the fighters have at least three fighting styles, although some of them are from characters that didn't make the cut for the main roster. In addition, its online is greatly improved over Mortal Kombat 9.
And that's where I'm spending most of my game time lately. My main is, as always, Kitana. I suck at the combos and all that splashy stuff that the FGC loves. On the other hand, I'm really damned good at winning matches in King of the Hill. Yeah, I'm a scrub (in the FGC parlance), and I don't give a damn. It's rather amusing to see the folks I've beaten in KotH vent their butthurt on the chat board.
Anyway, that's all for this update. Sorry it isn't much of a blog. Till next time, kiddies...
Never been a big fan of any MK game, but I like Jade, Sonya, and Reptile because they wear green and I like green.
I'd really like to get into this one but fighting games these days are a weird area for me. I'm not sure I can wrap my head around committing to one the way I used to as a teenager. I've watched some Let's Play vids; the game looks amazing.
I'm supposed to review that game for plus10damage, but instead I just got back from presenting research at a conference in Vegas that drained my bank account (and no it was not a wild fun time, hotel, plane and strip food are just overpriced) and am currently editing my thesis for my defense, which just got pushed back to next week.
I was just thinking about how pleasurable it is to freeze people as Sub Zero.
I've been a sorta fan of the franchise (never owned any of the games, but played them a lot of times) and I do hope to grab this one once it's on a reasonable sale on Steam. Although maybe I should start MK9 before delving on the newest game.
When My ne desktop is made i'll... try and rub 2 pennys together to get this game
