vice 5

While my favorite GTA is probably San Andreas, the one I played the most is Vice City. I probably even got the PS2 mostly to play Vice City (and eventually, Final Fantasy X). I had a job as a projectionist at a movie theater then, and we used to slack off and play GTA3 up in the booth. It was a revelation to me. I had never experienced anything like it before.

So, when Vice City came out, I got a PS2 and played the hell out of it. The music, the color, the violence - I was in love with it. Even after I beat it, I still played it, going on rampage after rampage. I remember one of the properties you can buy is a car dealership, and I would start killing people from up on the second floor until the police would come in tanks. Then I would steal a tank.

The girl I was dating at the time would come over and smoke weed and take turns playing. I kept a pink jeep in my garage for her to use. Unfortunately, she turned out to be a psychotic slut.

But I digress. Gaming was simpler in those days, to a degree. Vice City might seem quaint now compared to today's open worlds, but at the time it really was something.

Is the pink Jeep or the psychotic slut in the game or real or ... that paragraph sounded like a GTA substory.

The pink Jeep was in the game. The psycho girlfriend was in real life. Ha ha.

I never got deeply into any GTA, but I got the soundtrack for Vice City. I still play the fake DJ tracks from time to time because they're so funny. I wonder why Vice City hasn't been remastered for new systems. I'd want to play that one again.

GTA games aren't my cup of tea, but there is something about Vice City that did interest me and that was the 80's setting.  I hear they used a large soundtrack from the 80's, and 80's music is one of my guilty pleasures.

the soundtrack was great! A work of art in itself.

Oh GTA VC, I remember it being a bigger draw to me than 3 because it was in the 80s. I loved this game, the music, and of course all the cheat codes. It took awhile before I completed the game but damn it was a lot of fun.

I have to ask, after hours could you connect your PS2 to the projector at the theater?
