Sorry to hear about your mom.  In addition, I'll just post this "The key difference is the sheer sense of peace that washed over me when I stood in that apartment."

That should tell you all you need to know.

The limbo ladder on wheels.  It has been a few years, but I seem to remember having trouble with that one as well.

That is brutal.  My wife bought me Destiny on 360 for my birthday the week it first came out because they told her at the store it was the cool new game.  I opened it and put it in that night in the same way you wear that sweater you get but don't really like but it was a gift so that is what you do.  I don't think I have even put 8 hours into playing it.

To be clear, I am offering the code for the Wii U version.

I haven't played this but it looks cool.  I can dig a walking simulator.  As a matter of fact, Skyrim was a walking simulator for me for the longest time.  I didn't really accomplish much at first, I just wandered all over taking in the huge world and I loved every minute of it.  Have you ever played Blue Ocean on the Wii?  I guess that would be more of a "swimming" simulator, but it always piqued my interest.  Never got it yet though.

I played through this back in the day!  The graphics in it were amazing.

I am of the opposite opinion since seeing the outrageous prices microsoft charged for thier hard drives and how much more consoles are with the larger drives.  I feel like Nintendo saved me the extra money they would have jacked the price up to include a larger drive and let me buy my own dirt cheap (actually, use one I already had laying around).

I probably will pass on WInd Waker.  I just finally finished it last year on the gamecube, lol.  I do look forward to what they offer in the new Zelda though.  Hyrule Warriors is also a game I will probably pick up sometime.  My friends and I always had fun with Dynasty Warriors and I have not played one of them in years so a Zelda themed one will probably work out quite well for me.

Thanks for the tip on the demos.  I have been wanting to check out the Bayonetta games and since both are included with 2 it sounded like a good deal.

I dig it!

Neil Gaiman is one of my favorites and 1602 was a neat twist on the standard heros. I also played 999 a few months back.  I was enjoying it until I unexpectedly got the first ending.  I haven't picked it up since.  I plan to in the future, but I'm still irked at it for now.

I really like FFXII but never beat it.  I'm still stuck at the demon wall.  I know what you mean by it being so different.  I had finished every domestic release of FF released up til that point but FFXII is SO hard!  It made this RPG vet feel like I had no clue how to play them.

"I love music but I’m probably never going to be able to create the music I can hear in my head, the music I want to make.  I’ll never be able to compose an opera or a symphony, etc.  I’m limited by my music education and lack of playing skills.  I can make good music, but it won’t be what I imagine.  I’m not going to stop, don’t get me wrong, I’m just feeling a little disgruntled about it."

That's the sign of a true artist.

Sigh...

I read this review hoping it would be different than the others I read but it seems this game really doesn't live up to my expectations.  (not the reviewers fault, lol).  I imagine I would enjoy it anyways.  The original is a hard hard game to be compared to.  I am just geeting down from watching Nintendo come sooooo close to reliving the glory days and coming up short.  Nostalgia is a cruel cruel mistress.

All things in moderation and All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy.  I have the same problem.  Sometimes I have to focus on making time to sit back and relax.  It's not that I don't want too, I just get caught up in trying to get everything done.  I'm finding out that fun time is extremely important and it actually makes the work time more productive as well.

Indeed.  I wanted to try and cut down the back log so what do I do?  Get hooked on Skyrim again after listening to the guys at work talk about it. lol!

It's on the backlog as well though so I am doing something, and I have beat three gamecube games in the last year so that is some progress.

Depth perception when jumping on things is a problem I always have with mario sunshine as well as galaxy.  I can't remember if it was a problem in mario 64, probably because I was still so blown away by it being 3D back then.

I will probably buy a 3DS XL this summer so there is 1 they can chalk up.  lol

I noticed a couple of the games you mentioned said nonplayable.  What does that mean?

I never had the original xbox so I never really played much halo unless I was at a friends house and we were doing multiplayer with networked consoles.  It was extremely fun.  I am just now playing the campaign for the first time with the anniversary edition and I enjoy it. I'm not all that into the story and still hav'nt figured out how so many people went bananas over it but it is a fun shooter and the AI must have been something spectacular at the time.  It isn't perfect, yet by no means do I think it is a bad game.  I guess some people have to hate something when it gets popular.  That never bothers me much as I make my own decisions if I feel something is good or not.

Nice review! I remember my neighbor having this game and it was pretty fun but also challenging.  Did they ever do a proper sequel?

BTW, it is great to read reviews of old games brought back for the new folks.   Keep up the good work!

This is a great game.  I was lucky enough to play it back in the day when it was "state of the art!"  lol.  I'm not sure how it holds up today becasue I will always see it through those eyes.  It is cool though to see newer generations go back to the gaming roots and enjoying it.

I can't say it is the best myself but I always loved Simon's Quest.  It was the first Castlevania I played though.  I was surprised when I read all the hate it gets.  After thinking about it, I get why a lot of people don't like it.  I can't shake the first impression it left on me though.  Being the first dark/scary sort of themed game I ever played always made it a winner.

I have this one from way back.  I never beat it though.   I can't even remember how far I got truth be told.   Someday I will dig out my nes and give it a try it again.

I was always pretty anal about taking care of my games and consoles  and keeping the packaging (my nes is even packed in the original box).  I still have this one as well.

WTF has the letter?  ITF has the letter!  lol
