I've been thinking a lot lately about my willingness to jump at a "hard" game like Bloodborne or even take a stab at Dark Souls 3 when it releases. It feels like I'm missing out by not taking a chance but as you mention above, I'm a prime example of someone who lets frustration turn me away forever (& hence basically just throw my money away...). I was actually close to giving up on possibly my favourite game of last year The Witcher 3 due to it's initial combat learning curve which felt unfair and overly harsh. The way you still admire Bloodborne while being very much aware of it's flaws gets me interested though in taking the plunge. Plus the fact that it's now around $30 helps... Really nice write up Blake.

Yeah I'm extremely excited for Battlefront also. Unless I'm subject to a random impulse buy, I think that & MGS V will be the only two games I buy the rest of this year (definitely at $60). There's a whole bunch of games next year though... FF XV included (sorry Tongue Out)

Yeah that's the major time sink right there. You've to get the 6 different classes to 70 so at least there's variation in it... Kinda.

I hope they just skip the origin story and just kinda have him show up... Everyone who would see the movie knows who Spiderman is already.

I feel the same way about all super hero reboots to be honest. Just tell an interesting story please.

I've seen you playing online. Tempting... But I'd be afraid I'd get tired of it quickly.

I've liked what bit of RE I've played so far though certain aspects of the design frustrate. I hope you enjoy.

I decided to get back into Diablo 3 again over the weekend too. I'm on my 4th character still going for the platinum on PS4. Such a great game to just throw on and switch off

I hear ya man. I need to figure something out going forward. This 40 hour regimented work week wears me down

Yeah unfortunately it's difficult to find the time at times. Just takes effort I guess...

Cheers bud. Likewise..

But of course. Seems relatively obvious now that you say it ha.

I'm working for a local gas company here in Pittsburgh as a Design Tech. It's interesting but it kicks my ass

Yeah I've been meaning to get something written but I never seem to find the time. I need to prioritize is all...

I didn't realize they edited this version of the game. Imagine if they tried something of the sort today. It's an interesting prospect... Wolfenstein on Wii U where you're fighting green blooded Nazis.

I'm really excited to try out Injustice. I've been tempted to buy it lately with it dropping to the $20 mark. I typically dislike 2D fighters, preferring their 3D cousins (i.e Tekken & Dead or Alive), but it'll be a nice barometer on whether I should consider the new Mortal Kombat coming out in April. I hear the story mode in these NetherRealm Studios games are pretty outstanding too which is a plus.

Knights of the Old Republic 2 was this for me. I was so consumed by the first KOTOR that by the time the 2nd one rolled around I had hyped it up to the point that it could never satisfy me. I remember playing perhaps 10 hours the first time around and forsaking it for something else. Cut to earlier this year when I decided to fire it up on Steam and played the whole thing through in a couple of weeks.

I think games can mesh with you at different points of your life depending on your dominant mood at the time. I was really in the mood for a deep thought provoking story and KOTOR2 certainly filled that for me this time around. I now regard it as one of my most beloved games.

I think you're right in what you're saying. If I ever get up the rush to setup my PS3 again, I'll do it. I wish you could just use the PS4...

Haha oh jeez. Stay strong Tami!

I'm gonna try the PS3 thing and report back. It's a pain to set the console up again but if it works, it works

Yeah it's a shame it wasn't released full blown for Vita

I managed to get my Hardcore Crusader to level 70 earlier this month and it's difficult to describe how satisfying that was. I'm currently on my third character (Witch Doctor on Expert) and I'm most definitely hooked. I'm totally with you in that Diablo 3 has most certainly dug its claws into me. I'm in for the long haul and going for that platinum Smile

Diablo 3: Ultimate Evil Edition is absolutely my favorite game on the PS4 and no doubt my GOTY.

If you're looking for something new to read, a friend highly recommended The Pale King by David Foster Wallace. I haven't started it yet but the premise sounds pretty interesting/funny. I'll report back when I get it read.

It's true that the grass is always greener... While I love Ireland, I'd hardly call it "cool". Growing up I wanted to be anything other than stereotypically Irish but I guess that rolls back around as I get older.

That's awesome. If you did the Ring of Kerry, you would have passed through my hometown of Killorglin. However if you blinked, you may have missed it haha. And I would never judge people taking a bus tour when doing the Ring. Some of those roads (especially back towards Dingle) are a disaster. I try to visit Kerry at least once a year to top up my Irishness. My wife and I plan on returning there for good once we get more work experience in Pittsburgh and the Irish economy recovers a bit more. It's true what they say, there's no place like home. I'm glad you liked it.
