Prince of Persia TLC is an excellent game, but I do think it's a little too long for a Metroidvania (took me 25 hours to finish). Apparently it's made by the same team that did Rayman Legends! Also, Streets of Rage 4 is one of the best beat-em-ups I've ever played, so I definitely want to hear your thoughts on that one when you play it!
I played Tunic on Switch when it first came out. Excellent game! Unfortunately it got too hard for me, so I never finished it. But it does a great job of letting you freely explore, just like the original Zelda.
Yes! Hades is so good! I'm not a fan of rogue-likes, but Hades is the big exception, and I'm very excited to play Hades II later this year.
Also, Jake Kaufman's new arrangements for DuckTales Remastered are truly exceptional. That Moon Theme is stellar!
Honestly, I'm still playing TotK here and there. I prefer it over BotW. I don't mind that there's a ton to do, although it wasn't fun having to wait six years for the game. Seriously, though, I do hope we get a more traditional 3D Zelda next, but what form it takes is anyone's guess.
Unfortunately Aonuma said "Why would you want to go back?" when asked about traditional Zelda. That worries me. Not sure why they can't make an openworld Zelda that has dungeons in the world that are traditional dungeons with items you can obtain and then use in the open world.
Ghost Trick is incredible, so glad they re-released it!
Mario Wonder is fantastic! It's a perfect game to play with your kids too.
That's unfortunate, but MAN, it is exciting that we're getting the TTYD remake! A lot of people missed out on the game back in the day, and it is hands-down the best Mario RPG so I'm glad everyone can experience it.
I'm actually playing the FF6 Pixel Remaster right now and loving it (FF6 is my fave), and I'm hoping to also play (and beat) FF1 and FF5 Pixel Remasters since I have played both those games but never beaten them. I was able to finish Mario RPG, excellent remake!
F-Zero 99 is SOOOO good! I have put way too much time into it and have loved every second. I really hope Nintendo will give us a brand-new F-Zero some time soon. This year has been great for games, I'll be posting my gaming list soon.
You should get it, but it usually goes for about $120. That's what I paid at least
Yuzo Koshiro never disappoints (except for Beyond Oasis, that OST was surprisingly bland for being composed by Koshiro).
You got Paper Mario TTYD for a couple bucks????? That game is $100 or more these days!
Yeah, I didn't like the clunky gameplay either.
Having Jim Cummings voice the mask was awesome! He's a legendary voice actor. He also voiced Sumo Santa in Clayfighters 63 1/3.
Thanks! The graphics are definitely cool, I enjoyed seeing what the game would show me next. The Splatterhouse reboot didn't do well, but I think there's something charming about the old games. The reboot probably didn't do well because it looked too much like all the other horror games. What do you think?
Finally! TotK is so incredible! I think it's easily superior to BotW and its story is one of the best in the whole franchise. Excited to hear what you think about it!
Thanks. A high encounter rate is one of the most frustrating part of any RPG, but sadly, most old-school JRPGs have them.
Yes, I'm hoping to get the second game some time (it's pricey). I'm aware of its greatness.
Love Luigi! Martinet's work in Luigi's Mansion 3 is unparalleled. A big part of Luigi's personality is because of Marinet's excellent voice work.
You should play Super Metroid and Metroid Fusion. And all the Prime games are great, but you should especially play the new remake of Prime 1.
It would be neat to have a more talkative Mario, but it would take some getting used to! I honestly have no idea what Nintendo is planning here, so it's kinda exciting, but also kinda scary.
Wow, those are great stories! There's no doubt that the man is very talented (and from what I've heard, very likable)
If you watch the Mario Wonder trailer, you can hear the "new" voice (Nintendo said it's not Martinet), so it seems that for now the new voice is trying to imitate Martinet's Mario voice.
This was an awesome year. You left out Super Metroid, one of the greatest games of all time.
That's very handy. I'll have to keep it in mind since those batteries won't last forever.
Hades is fantastic! What's amazing is that the dialog never repeats (which means they wrote and recorded a ton of lines). It's one of the very few rogue-likes that I actually love because I'm not a fan of randomly generated levels.
