PB & Jason is back in style for the new year! PB & Jason's first 2013 podcast is just fantastic. How fantastic? So much so, that I feel a need to post a list of types of people who would likely become offended if they were to listen:

Welcome to our little group. This time on Backloggers, I'm joined by Jesse and JD as we discuss Darksiders, and it's publisher THQ.

2012 was kind of an amazing year for video games. We had the launch of two new pieces of hardware in the form of the PS Vita and the Wii U. We had amazing games that seemingly came out of nowhere such as XCOM: Enemy Territory, Dishonored, and Far Cry 3. We also saw growth in the digital download realm, with games like Journey and The Walking Dead in the running for many game of the year lists. With all of that said, 2013 is poised to be one of the biggest years in video game history. As the resident previews guy for PixlBit, I wanted to highlight a few of the more notable games in the pipeline for the coming year. So let's kick things off right with a few of the heavy hitters this year.

Welcome to a very special edition of Nerds Without Pants. Julian is joined by a couple of lovely ladies—Shanna and Allison—who are experts on the topic of the day: massively multiplayer online role playing games. That’s MMORPGs for you savvy ones. With Star Wars: The Old Republic doing well below expectations and Final Fantasy XIV needing a complete redesign this episode of NWP asks what’s so special about these types of games, and why do people still play them?

So the world didn't end. Who'd a thunk it. So let's celebrate with a special "Year in Review" episode of Push Start to Continue that sees the Hell Block Heroes reunite! The guys guiltily admit how the Steam Winter Sale pilfered their wallets; Jesse explains away his Civilization V addiction; and the whole crew goes round and round on some of the best games and gaming moments of 2012.

It’s 2013 and somehow we survived the apocalypse! Time to ring in the new year in style, with a new episode of Nerds Without Pants. This week we’re a nerd down, as Patrick is convalescing after minor surgery. Filling in is the one and only Ty “Fighter”, who long time listeners will know as Rob’s oft-mentioned buddy. Since every podcast is doing their game of the year lists we decided to buck that trend and instead take a look back at the year that was.

Welcome to the final part of PixlBit’s comprehensive look at the Final Fantasy series. In our last installment, we went through the PlayStation 2 era, which took the series into uncharted territory, for better or worse. This time, we look at the most recent Final Fantasy games, which have gone on to become the most divisive and controversial games in the series so far. Join us as we explore the Seventh Generation years!

Welcome to the fourth part of our long look at the Final Fantasy series, in celebration of its 25th anniversary. In our last installment, we talked about how Square stunned the gaming world by leaving their longtime home of Nintendo platforms for the shiny new world of CD technology with Sony's PlayStation. This time, we look at the series in its somewhat shaky transition to voice acting, a controversial but successful transition into the online space, and the first game in the series to have real problems behind the scenes.

On this, the final episode of Backloggers Anonymous covering Too Human, we discuss the final two missions, the overall plot and story, and dig a little deeper into the issues we had with some of the choices the game designers made. Joaquim gives up on his quest for dragon armor, Julian explains his love/hate relationship with Denis Dyack, and I, now free from pain meds, discusses my difficulty understanding Baldur as a character. Finally, we say our goodbyes and offer our final opinions of our journey though Too Human.

Welcome to the third part of our comprehensive look at the history of the Final Fantasy series, celebrating 25 years of role playing goodness. In the last edition, we cast the spotlight on three of the most highly regarded games in the series. This time we break into the third dimension and watch the franchise move into the mainstream. Join us now as we look at the PlayStation Years!

Happy end of the world, everyone! With today being the supposed end of times according to the Mayans, the Nerds Without Pants thought it would be a great time to talk about apocalyptic games and media. Before that, we catch up on what we’ve been up to lately.

Welcome to the second part of our exhaustive look at the history of Final Fantasy! In the first edition, we looked at the birth of a role playing series that would go on to capture the hearts and minds of millions of gamers worldwide and the man behind that idea-Hironobu Sakaguchi. This time we move into the 16 bit era, a time when the Final Fantasy franchise truly took its place on the world stage of RPGs. So please join us as we delve into the Super Famicom Years.

A lot of noise has been made of THQ’s supposed downfall recently. Yesterday the company revealed that they have filed Chapter 11 bankruptcy, and as can be expected within the confines of the video game industry’s supposed journalistic quarter, articles started coming out wondering where some of THQ’s assets and IPs would be heading in light of its complete and utter decimation.

Final Fantasy is 25 years old! With Square Enix celebrating all year long through various events, game releases, and products, we decided it was the perfect time to take a look at the RPG franchise that brought us moogles, chocobos, and spoony bards. Considering that each major console generation has had three games released for it, we’ll be breaking down the entire series from I-XIV. Enjoy our first installment with The Famicom Years!

We may be a day late, but this episode of Push Start to Continue is certainly not lacking in the dollars and cents. Join Mike and Jesse as they completely ignore the awards given at this year's 10th annual Spike TV Video Game Awards, and talk about the only thing that really matters: the trailers and game announcements. Also discussed is the allure of the Demon's/Dark Souls series, the THQ Bundle, and much, much more.

In the post-mordem of a really tough semester, I decided to play Journey and reflect on the past few months as well as talk about my thoughts on gaming this year...and of course my opinions on Journey. Hope you enjoy!

Not sure of what I'm talking about? Tune into the last few minutes of this PB & Jason to find out! Listen to earlier parts of PB & Jason to find out about streetpassing at Disney World, Pokémon iOS apps, SmartPhone troubles, and troubling Japanese sales for the Vita. Just a note: There will not be PB & Jasons produced in the next two weeks due to the Christmas and holiday season. Click through for the listening and download links!

Welcome back to Backloggers Anonymous for part two of our three part series on Too Human. At this point, we've finished half of the game (the first two missions) and have gotten a pretty good feel for what the title has to offer.

We’re back! After a month long hiatus, the Pantsless Ones return to entertain and inform on a variety of topics. We begin by catching up, which leads to a lot of comic book talk. Rob’s made a new addition to his legendary Comedian shrine, and he also may have a slight Dark Knight Rises hoarding problem. Don’t worry folks—an intervention is in the works.
