This week starts with a special site announcement delivered by Nick and Chessa, but is promptly followed by regular weekly discussion. Given the swirling rumors of the Wii successor, discussion of the upcoming system continued this week. What's now confirmed as Project Cafe is discussed in detail, as is the credibility of the various rumors that are floating around.

You've heard it here first, ladies and gentlemen: EAD is working on a game for Nintendo's Wii successor. Or will work on one at some point in time. Anonymous inside sources informed me it was true, scout's honor! A lot of this week's PB & Jason is full of stuff like that!

The forefront of Episode 28 is Nintendo. Why? Because of the numerous rumors about the Wii's successor, which apparently will be revealed at this upcoming E3, which is exactly what Nick and Jason estimated would happen last week, in Episode 27.

With all of the rumors swirling about Nintendo's next home console, gamers have started discussing what we can expect as a name for the next system. Many speculate a name change that, like the system, will cater to the hardcore market. Unfortunately for them, the system will undoubtedly continue to carry the Wii moniker. "Why is that?" you might ask. Simple.

I this podcast, I'm pretty much an equal-opportunity discriminator, as I bash Microsoft, Sony, and Nintendo, their peripherals, and their failures to rise and offer better productions in what should be a competitive market.

Side B of Episode 27 begins with the third page of reader mail, literally. There's a "Ding" at the beginning, and Nate turns the page.

Over the past few weeks, we’ve seen some words exchanged between Nintendo and mobile developers. It shouldn’t come as much of a surprise; Nintendo is feeling a bit threatened by the new gaming market that has sprung up underneath its feet. Dominating the space since the Gameboy was released over two decades ago, Nintendo has had little or extremely weak competition. With a cell phone in almost everyone’s pocket, the mobile market is growing in popularity and viability with each passing day. Given the extremely low price of games (many are free), Nintendo’s recently released 3DS could be threatened by this competing software – especially after its owners have experienced a $5-$10 price hike from the previous generation. The question is this: does the quickly growing mobile market pose a threat to Nintendo?

Nick, Chessa, Nate, and Jason make up the panel of this week's PixlTalk, where the group talk about a variety of things relevant to the video game scene, as always. Unlike last week's 3DS-centric episode, this week brings conversation and insight on Sonic the hedgehog and Dragon Quest X quote translations.

The latest issue of PB & Jason is all about news. What's happened in the past week? Well, for starters, PixlBit has a new staff member! Everyone give a warm welcome Bradley Osburn.

Side B has Nick, Chessa, and Jason discussing the merits of the 3DS. Initial discussion revolves around the system being a gimmick and quickly moves to discussion on the quality of the launch titles.

As you all know the 3DS is now available worldwide and after Sunday's launch at midnight, Nick, Chessa, and Jason Ross have come together to discuss the new system and the process of procuring it.
Literally, I'm typing this with one hand, as I hang out in virtual strip clubs blowing up anyone who gets in my gun's sights.
I picked this one up at a used game store for only $29 and it was better than I remembered! After 3 Metroid games they had to go in a new direction, especially with 3d and rumble packs taking off so fast. How did we survive without cell phones? I don't know. What I do know is that the game (which you just lost) took a three-pronged approach to action, adventure, and shooting.

Due to the placebo effects Nintendo used to trick consumers into believing the 3DS is 3D, the visual appearance of the 3DS doesn't resemble the handheld's actual shape and appearance.

After a slew of celebrity accidents with the device, Nintendo revealed the 3DS doesn't use any type of 3D imaging.
It’s not every day that you stumble across a game with such amazingly progressive ideas that the majority of the game industry just doesn’t “get it.” It’s impressive, to say the least, with what Square Enix has managed to do with Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days. Avante garde in design, the game’s cover mechanics turn the standard shooter formula on its head. Couple this with the interesting graphical design and it’s clear that players are in for a real treat.

You may have noticed a general absence from the site over the past few weeks from Stanton Daries. Sadly, we've had to let him go due to some extenuating circumstances.

In this week's issue of PB & Jason, I talk about the 3DS. That's it. My thoughts on the handheld's integrity, the games, augmented reality, and that's about it.

As with the Kinect launch I decided I'd check out a few different areas close to midnight for the big event. This time though, I preordered from GameStop earlier in the week. I had a plan – or so I thought.

Just yesterday, the 3DS launched in the American market, with the European launch preceding it by two days. Obviously, the entire Internet is in a tizzy over its launch, as is to be expected; however, how was the system really received at market? Based on my launch experience, it's clear it didn't reach the levels Nintendo saw with the Wii.

If you're like us, you're likely extremely excited for tomorrow. It marks the launch of Nintendo's latest handheld system, the 3DS. The system offers stereoscopic 3D, Wii quality graphics, and a slew of new games - sixteen to be exact. That's a lot of choice! In order to make the right decision on your launch software, click through and read up on each and every game that will be available alongside your shiny new Cosmo Black or Aqua Blue system.

Partially because I still haven't decided what 3DS launch titles I'll be playing and partially because there's other news out there, this issue of PB & Jason barely covers the 3DS at all! Don't worry, there's still a little bit of mention about 3DS deals and such.

The second half of Episode 25 starts off a little off-topic, but soon enough, the discussion meanders to games PixlBit staff would enjoy seeing on the 3DS or in 3D. While the most notable franchise, Ice Climber, only gets a brief mention toward the end, several different franchises and individual games are given shout-outs and receive speculation.

You read correctly! Nick, Stanton, Nate, and Jason Ross compose the cast of this week's PixlTalk, and discuss a wide range of industry ideas from the past week.
