I got into Sparks back in 74. Kimono My House and Propaganda were both released that year and I bought both of them. 

Keep it up and yes it is ok to not do something every day and falter. I started a walking program back in March of this year. My average has been over 10 km a day, sometime a little less, sometimes a little more.
