Rayman 3D Review

Posted on 05/19/2011 at 01:45 AM | Filed Under Review

I still have an unopened copy of the N64 version. Sounds like that is all I need since nothing new is added in this release.

I notice that Ubisoft loves to port old Rayman games onto new handhelds. The GBA got a port of Rayman 1. The DS got Rayman 2 which flopped due to the terrible touch screen controls. Now with the 3DS we get Rayman 2 again. Ironically I would have much rather had a re-release of Super Mario 64 DS with updated controls than this game.

Super Mario Bros. 3 > Super Mario World. This means war.

Apologies on two fronts: The poor audio quality and the delay. My headset seems to be going bad and there was little that could be done in editing to fix it.

Sorry for the extended delay, in the flurry of preparations for next weeks launch of PixlBit 2.0 I forgot to post the current podcast.

I am a terrible person...

Other notes:

There was no version of Mario Land for the GBC at least in the states. I loved the original and would have heard of it if there was one here. I searched to see if there was a Japanese one but no sign of that either.

The reason Soul Calibur 3 was a PS2 exclusive was due to a Sony money hat.

Correction: Negligent Backlogging can make or break a person. We must come together and support each other as we remove old dusty backlogs and bring them into the light.

It is firstly an injustice to ourselves when we don't play games. Secondly it is an injustice to the developers who don't get the credit and recognition they may deserve for these unplayed games. Thirdly it is an injustice to your friends, readers, coworkers or other persons in your life whom you have influence over who might love to play said game if they only heard good things from you.

Playing old games only leads to the betterment of our lives, our hobby, our industry and our world. I hope we can come together to tackle this pandemic scale problem.

I have DKC3 on the VC so I'm interested to hear your thoughts and comparisons to DKCR.

For your next game you should do StarFox on the SNES.

It is being reported that Sony has stated off the record that credit card information is probably untouched. But the fact they are still unsure is disturbing.

I'm warming up slightly to Pokemon Black mostly because I found enough monsters I like to fill out a complete team. Plus it turns out the way to get those monsters you win on the Global Network was sitting under my nose the entire time.

I think there is little excuse for a game these days to only have one save slot. Sure, some games might legitimately not have enough room for a second slot but with the DSi having an SD card slot and on-board storage I see no reason they couldn't have included an option for extra save files some how.

*Continues Holding Out For 3DS Version*

I guess my complaint regarding the demo's controls were legit. I'll probably get it if we don't hear of a 3DS version before the end of Summer.
