PixlTalk Special: Dark Souls II Beta Discussion

After 3 hours with the Dark Souls II beta, Nick and Chris offer up their thoughts and observations.

Though we all know the next holiday approaching is Halloween, for Nick and Chris, Saturday night was more like Christmas Eve. Starting at midnight Sunday morning, Namco Bandai opened up the first play session for the Dark Souls II beta and the duo got a chance to check out a portion of the game for 3 full hours. While there's quite a bit of coverage from the event forthcoming, this first tidbit is a discussion between the two about their time in the game and the things that they observed and experienced.

If you too are a Dark Souls fanatic, be sure to check this special episode out and hear about all of the changes that were made for this new addition to the brutal franchise. Of course, if you have any questions or comments, be sure to leave a message below and we'll give you the scoop.

Furthermore, be sure to check out Chris' videos of the first 50 minutes of his play time with the beta below!

That's completely understandable man. It's a great game, but sometimes you just need to get shit taken care of first!

I should add that I listened to this podcast again over the holiday break, and Yarger needs to podcast more. Actually just give him his own podcast. I'm sure you could talk about Disgaea 2 and sell us on it.

Just curious, but why do you say that?

Also, thanks!

Solo podcasting or Disgaea?

I'm interested in playing Disgaea after you were talking about it. I didn't really care before.

Podcasting. I listen to quite a few podcasts and I think you would make a good host. I enjoy podcasts where the hosts know what they are talking about and get to the point. You also seem to like JRPGs, or I could be wrong? It would be nice to hear someone representing games like Lightning Returns and Bravely default on here.  I wouldn't mind some Dark Souls 2 talk either. That would be awesome!

Disgaea: Great game. I'm really glad I was able to review it. If I hadn't reviewed it, I probably still would be passing over the games, which would be a major mistake on my behalf.

Podcasting: Anytime I'm typically on a Podcast, I try to study any agenda beforehand and research the topics at hand. Even if I know what I'm talking about, I always try to up my game.
*spoiler*
I'm on the next Backloggers, and I had no agenda. So I was kind of in the dark with little to say, but I got it done.

JRPGs: I LOVE them! I grew up with them back on the SNES, with FF6 being my cherry popper. My love for the deepened whenever I grabbed a Playstation 1 and experienced games such as Xenogears, Final Fantasy 7-9, and Legend of Legaia!

Dark Souls II: Don't you worry bud, I have a lot up my sleeve for this particular game Wink

Sounds good! I have all those JRPGs you listed on Vita. I was just playing Xenogears again recently. Such good music!
