Yeah, I should buy a legit mic ... sorry for the interruptions by potato. In my defense, I think a lot of that is compression, cause it sounds ok on my laptop (and in WAV format) but still.

Enjoying the edits like music on Patrick's sack attack that weren't in the original podcast track and I certainly hope despite my audio being whack you guys decide at some point to bring me back.

In the words of Joe Pesci, from the movie Goodfellas, "You worry too much! Everything is beautiful!"

Yeah, the leveller did some wonky stuff during processing this time. You definitely sounded low when I was editing, but not as low as you do in the final product.

It could be that effect I used to get rid of Patrick and you on my audio. It might have taken out certain frequencies by default. On my end, it worked like a charm, but I can see how any further compression/normalizing would result in something like that.

Stage select:

3. Road Rash. So I have some fun memories of going to a friend's house and playing these games as a kid, and I think if there ever was a time to bring it back, maybe it's now? I'm thinking if this franchise were to come back, you throw realism right out of the window. It wouldn't be so much about the coarse, it would be more about the fight. I'm thiinking some sort of weird vehicular fighting game. It could maybe work? I don't know, but I think it would be an interesting game if done right. You'd have nostalgia people like me on board for it, and new people to the franchise would be curious as to what the hell this weird motorcycle game with chain fights in it is. I could see a lot of big dumb fun being had with this, and who doesn't like big dumb fun?

2. Bushido Blade. BRING IT BACK SQUARE/ENIX YOU COWARDS!!!! We have the technology! We can rebuild this! So many stupid fun times were had with these games in my youth, and I eagerly await the day when they take a chance and bring them back. You could have some cool character designs or actually, what I'm thinking for this, you just have a really cool, in depth character editor (Because in the original games it wasn't so much about the characters you picked, but the weapons that were more important.) and just apply the Bushido Blade formula. One hit kills, the whole deal. With the tech we have now, watching a guy hobble around on one leg to continue the fight would be amazing. They could go as simple or as complex as they wanted with the fighting. Personally, I think you go very simple, with maybe even a rock paper scissors kind of style. Your opponent strikes first, he presses a button, you can tell what he hit, (Maybe a color coding system?) now you have a choice: Do you hit the same button as them to block? Do you go for broke and hit the button that beats his? Maybe it's a slower attack! Maybe you're out of range! Shit! You took too long! Now your arm has a gaping wound and you can only hold your sword with one hand... You know what, if they don't bring Bushido Blade back, just somebody make a game like this. Please I beg of you.

1. Final Fight. If we can have a new Streets of Rage game announced, in the year of our lord 2018, we can have a new Final Fight game dammit! But I don't personally want a 2D beat-em-up. I want Final Fight to have the ressurection it deserves. It did not deserve to die after Streetwise! That game is an atrocity and it hurts my spirit that it's the last Final Fight game we got. So here's what I'm thinking: There's a game coming out next year, and maybe you've heard of it? It's called Devil May Cry 5. So here's a crazy thought... What if we give Final Fight to Itsuno? What if we make beating up Final Fight jobbers not so much a game about punching them until they're dead, but more about looking cool while doing it? Maybe new Final Fight isn't so much a game about getting to the end of a stage, but more of a game about getting to the end of a stage with an S ranking because you pulled off a bunch of sexy combos and nobody touched you. This sounds pretty cool to me! Now recently capcom has gotten the Final Fight peanut butter all up in Street Fighter's chocolate, and that's fine. Cody's the mayor of Metro City, and Abigail is... I don't know, pretending to be a truck? Whatever that's about? Anyways, why not just continue the Final Fight story from here? And what the hell, maybe we get Street Fighter's chocolate all up in Final Fight's peanut butter? Now I know what you're thinking, this is just because you want Chun Li to show up in your theorical Final Fight game... and you're not wrong... But think of all the possibilities! You can have Ken and Ryu fireballing jobbers and Blanka's there doing his thing, and then Guile shows up in a helicopter for some reason... I don't care go nuts! It'll be great! And then Mike Haggar comes out of retirement and spinning piledrives everybody and I will die happy. MAKE IT HAPPEN CAPCOM YOU COWARDS!!!!

My episode comment: First off, I want to say thank you Julian for the retweet on my little hobby podcast I've been working on with my sister. I really appreciate that a lot. We're still kind of learning what works and what doesn't, and our first episode was super rough audio wise because we were in the same room. Turns out audacity doesn't like that very much so levels are all over the place. It was a whole thing. Anyways, thanks a bunch for that man! Also I assure you I love writing stage selects and stuff for this show a whole bunch, and I'm glad you have a good time reading them. I have the big dumb smiles when I hear them back on here. (Hopefully I followed the rules of this one correctly. I think these games count, but I could have screwed that up)

So I personally enjoyed the fighting game talk on the show. I am in a weird place with SFV because I go from some character designs I'm not big on to some that I like a lot personally. Like... I'm a big fan of Falke and Ed. I think those two characters are pretty cool and they're kind of fun to play as. Menat is pretty cool. Rasheed is neat. I really like Sakura's update, I think it's past due. G is super weird and I'm not big on him either, but he does have a weird move where you can make him rant on about nothing and build V trigger?... It's bizarre. But yea, it's weird, I played it recently just to see what they added and again, for each thing I think is not good, there's something I find interesting. Should be noted, I'm very bad at it still, and I think the choice to slow down the fighting is weird and I can't quite adjust to it's style. I suppose it's better than when it was released... But probably should have just not released it like they did... It's complicated. They do have the option for me to buy a bunch of Chun Li costumes... and of course I did that... Oh! SFV Battle Costume Chun Li would have been in that photo I mentioned from the stage select. I love that design... Capcom knows how to extort money from me and it scares me a bit.

Anywho, fun episode! I look forward to the next one as always! Keep on cussin in the free world!

Great call on Road Rash. That series needs a relaunch.

Hey, don't sweat the audio in your first episode. It sounded pretty darn good to me, and you have an amazing radio voice...far better than mine. Don't worry about getting equipment and stuff yet; focus on getting your show out regularly and on time. The only podcasts I've recorded in person was Slam Masters with Friend of the Show John Gholson, but we just shared a mic and tried to keep our distance from it consistent as we recorded. So I don't have any experience with mixers or anything, but I will say that both the Blue Snowball and Blue Yeti mics have a great setting that picks up audio in a circle, which makes them great for two to four people sitting around a table. Something to think about if you want to get some gear but don't want to invest in a mixing board and expensive condenser mics.

1. TimeSplitters, and typing that makes me think there's been a similar Stage Select before? Feel like I said that for another one. FPS games need more monkeys.

2. F-Zero. Dammit, Nintendo. Gimme. That is all.

3. Rival Schools x Bust a Groove ... you gave me three slots, so I cheated and put a crossover game of two dormant franchises here. Both gameplay styles in the same place. Booyah.

Since we talked about a mini console, who wants to bet whether Driver or Driver 2 shows up on PlayStation Classic? Not part of my list, just a question. Man, my cheating skills are great. TyroneSwift even cheated for me by listing Road Rage.

Time to go to Vegas.

Oh, I could DEFINITELY see the first Driver making it onto that collection. It sold like gangbusters. The sequel...not so much. If not that, I wouldn't be surprised to see one of the Demolition Derby games to end up on there.

I definitely played 2 more than 1 on my brother's PlayStation, so that's interesting.

I am okay with Patrick changing his pick to The Witcher 3.  I do have to disagree with his deconstruction of the game having just finished it again.  Of course I cannot remember any of my argument anymore since I waited too long afte listening to comment.

Also, that DLC was an expansion released further after the initial release than The Witcher 3's first paid expansion.   Bloodborne was a March release, the Old Hunters was November.  The Witcher 3 was a May release and Hearts and Stone was October....  Just Sayin.

Stage Select:

1. Lunar. Nothing since the abomination that was Dragon Song. Heck, at this point I'd settle for a re-release of Eternal Blue, since you can at least get Silver Star on PSP/Vita or iPad. My wildest dream would be to see a true Lunar 3 made by the Valkyria Chronicles team using the CANVAS engine.

2. Ultima - sort of. I wish this classic RPG series were still going, but the series is now owned by EA, and aside from the fact that Origin and Lord British are long gone, EA's idea of reviving old series is to revive them as pay to win mobile phone crap. They did this with Ultima, in fact. Maybe if another company were to buy the series. Obsidian would probably do a good job with it, and they could probably even get Richard Garriott or Warren Spector to work on it.

3. Sakura Wars - This series is not only dormant, but only one game in the series released in the US. It's the precursor to Valkyria Chronicles, which you know I'm a huge fan of. I've heard that Sega is actually working on a new Sakura Wars game, but who knows if it will come out? But then again, all Sega has to do is put Atlus USA to work on it.

Great show guys. Glad to see you back to normal. I don't recall Valkyria Chronicles being that bad so maybe it's been messed up. To be fair it was a long time ago that I played it. I do plan on buying this new one eventually.

The whole Netflix thing is a joke. I can't believe they still don't have a proper category for, "New." I just want to see what the heck has come out in chronological order. Until then I think the Upflix app I recommended on Twitter has been very useful. For anyone interested it lists all the newest content as it releases every day. It also shows you what's leaving soon so you can watch it before its gone.

Anyways on to Stage Select. I really like this one and I've seen a few good picks from other listeners already.

Stage Select: Rise from your Grave

3. Crimson Skies: This game was amazing on OG Xbox and I believe it could do extremely well these days. It offers a very different but still familiar multiplayer and could be an amazing Xbox exclusive if they even own the IP. Microsoft needs something and Crimson Skies could be a nice edge.

2. Gunstar Heroes: The idea of a new Gunstar Heroes with graphics like HD Odin Sphere or Guilty Gear Xrd are mouth watering. Add in at least 2 new weapon types to combine and you're set. As a bonus they could even add some NG+ rogue-like stages as side content and make replay value bigger.

1. Chrono Series: You knew it had to be this. All I've ever wanted is a new Chrono game. As much as I'd prefer Cross I'm sure it would lean heavily towards Trigger. Ideally they'd take some of the Cross gameplay system and mix it with Triggers to make an amazing hybrid. 40 characters isn't necessary but at least 20 really fleshed out ones is a must. I want to hate myself for having to ditch a character I really want for a new one I also want. That way I will gladly replay it.

To throw a few suggestions out there for Stage Select:

1) Viewtiful Joe - I want this series back something fierce. Loved all the releases during the GCN/PS2 era and would love to see it be revisited.

2) Pilotwings - While Resort was great, it was also 7 years ago and that was after waiting for years after 64, which was arguably a better game than Resort.

3) Punch-Out - The Wii game was super amazing, but we need more of that!
