Mafia II Review Rewind

A more deliberately paced game with a strong narrative, Mafia II defies expectations.

Though pegged as another Mafioso-inspired sandbox game, Mafia II doesn’t have that much in common with its open world contemporaries. Rather than being inspired by Scarface and Goodfellas like GTA or Saints Row, Mafia II is more deliberately paced and more akin to The Sopranos or The Godfather, in which story and the lifestyle itself are front and center. There are no side quests or odd jobs to complete. Although there’s a big city, this is not an open world game. It's a linear action game with a strong narrative.

Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One Hands On Preview

Can a co-op based Ratchet and Clank game deliver? We take a spin on the online beta to find out.

I’ve been enjoying the Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One online beta since it was released to the public earlier this week. I have to admit that when I heard that that the next Ratchet and Clank game, a favorite series of mine, was going to be a co-op focused affair I was skeptical. It’s easy to see how the game mechanics would fit into a frantic multiplayer experience, but will that be enough to support an entire game?

The Asskickers Review

This might be the worst game I've ever reviewed.

That's a bold name for a game – it immediately makes you think, "This game must be badass." Or at least that's what developer AGO Games thought you'd think about the game based on its title. Put up or shut up, I say – and based on my experience, AGO ought to be shutting up right about now. The Asskickers is a completely terrible game that achieves little more than being just that, a game.

PixlTalk Episode 38: Zone of the Casuals

Delayed due to some technical difficulties, the latest issue of PixlTalk is finally available!

With the PS3 price drop, Nick, Chessa, Jason, and Nate talk about the effectiveness of the cut and if it will pull in a larger market share for the third place Sony system. This leads very naturally into a discussion on the Microsoft-Sony team up rumor, which also brings up a discussion of the proper resting place of the casual gamer (hint: it's not the Wii).
