PlayBit Tonight: Cancelled!

Ratchet & Clank All4One just wasn't a very good title. I don't want to spend my time playing it anymore.

Instead, a new PlayBit is scheduled to occur on Saturday Night! Live! Be here at 8:30 PM EDT on Saturday Night to catch some of Trendy Entertainment's new game, the long-awaited Dungeon Defenders. See? I wouldn't just cancel one PlayBit on you all without rescheduling something (hopefully) better. After that comes another PlayBit, back on the regular schedule, Monday night! What game will be played then? Why, Kirby's Return to Dreamland! Tune in for these PlayBits, I hope to see you there!

Ratchet & Clank Future: Quest for Booty Review Rewind

What once made for a great holdover between Tools of Destruction and A Crack in Time is now a side quest that's mostly forgettable.

At this point in time, Ratchet & Clank Future: Quest for Booty serves little purpose. The PSN release is an extremely short 2-3 hour experience that served only as a holdover for the (at the time) upcoming release of A Crack in Time. The entire quest is focused around contacting Clank, given the events that concluded Tools of Destruction. As such, he's not available for use and Ratchet is provided with a few nifty tools to get the job done.

Driver: San Francisco Review

The real San Francisco treat.

Driver: San Francisco has no business being as fun as it is.  It has one of the most ridiculous premises I have ever come across a video game, it oozes of 70’s car movie clichés and has enough cheesy dialogue to throw an epic fondue party.  Yet somehow all of these components meld together in a strangely fantastic way that makes for the most pleasantly surprising video game experience I have had the pleasure of playing all year.

Nintendo to Hold Another 3DS Press Event Friday

Seems Nintendo has more announcements regarding its little 3D handheld gaming machine.

Right before this year’s Tokyo Game Show, Nintendo held a Japanese press event to comment on the status of the 3DS and announce a bevy of new titles including the juggernaut that is Monster Hunter 4.  Considering that it’s only been a little more than a month it comes as a surprise that Nintendo has announced that they will be holding another press event this Friday called, “Nintendo 3DS New Information Internet Presentation.”

NFL Blitzes Online in January

Fans rejoice as NFL Blitz returns as a downloadable game early next year.

In a time long ago that I shall refer to as the 90s, EA’s NFL series wasn’t the only football gig in town.  I know it’s hard to believe, but it’s true and one of the more prolific titles was Midway Games’ NFL Blitz, an arcade take on America’s favorite past time – face it, no one cares about baseball anymore.

Secret Agent Clank Review Rewind

Qwark and Ratchet spoil Clank's fun.

Secret Agent Clank is the second PSP spin-off title in the Ratchet & Clank series, and like its counterpart, Size Matters, was also developed by High Impact Games. Released originally for the PSP in 2008, Secret Agent Clank was eventually ported to the PS2 in 2009 by Sanzaru games. Since I'm not a big fan of the analog nub on the PSP, I opted for the PS2 version instead, and it seems as though I chose poorly. While I can't vouch firsthand on the improved quality of the PSP version, the difference in review scores paints a pretty clear picture. What I can say is the PS2 version of Secret Agent Clank is a sloppy experience full of issues that sadly ruins the unique gameplay and overshadows the quirky character of the title.
