What I wouldn't give for an actual sequel to Soul Reaver. Nosgoth is just Counter Strike but not good, and with vampires and human hunters and it plays awfully! I'm assuming that you have to keep grinding to get better gear or whatever because some people in the game seemed indestructible in very low levels. Once the first match was over, you get switched to the other team and so how are you supposed to get good with a character type if you change sides? My teammates glow red when they are injured which confuses me and makes me think they are enemies, thus the hatorade is unloaded in chat. Also, I'm not very good at these games so there is that. For some people, it's probably an amazing game, but fuck it!
Bring this back Bastards!
those bastards! I remember playing this on Dreamcast back in the day. Those were the days, man!
Soul Reaver was a great game. I have it on Steam and GOG right now but I think it was based on the PSX version which did not look as good as the Dreamcast.
I've seen some youtubers play it, they pretty much enjoy it. I'm glad to know about the gear thing thou. That's just piss poor match making and design. I really believe several series that haven't been revived will be brought back this generation.
Soul Reaver was such a big title during the PSX era and kind of disappeared. I think they did make a game a bit more obviously relevant to it a bit back, but it got little hype and mediocre reviews IIRC.
I heard another interview with Denis Dyack on Nintendo Voice Chat podcast talking about the first Legacy of Kain game and it's sequels, and I just noticed Amy Hennig, writer on the Uncharted series, directed Soul Reaver. Neat! I've always wanted to try one of those games. I have one of them somewhere in my stash.
