I ordered Grant Morrison's new opus, "Multiversity", which is a bunch of issues of new comics about the DC multiverse. Comics and multiverses go hand and hand these days, but there are few writers as good as Morrison, whom I'm a big fan of, maybe even more than Alan Moore... I can't tell.
This shit isn't for everybody... it's very psychedelic and mystical and metaphysical. But this is the sort of stuff I'm into.
I've only read one so far, the one below, "Pax Americana". This includes characters from Watchmen in a kind of alternate universe. Pretty interesting.
Reading these have really put me in the mood for comics again, which is a really powerful medium. But I have to be very selective, as I'm not impressed with most writers.
I just ordered two more Multiversity comics I must have missed before. Very excited about these.
Anyway, it's Saturday and we're celebrating my mom's birthday today. I went out this morning to buy some supplies for me: a pizza for lunch, wine, cheese, salami, etc. Should be a good day.
Happy Birthday to Snee-Mom!
I just got From Hell out of the library. It's a Jack the Ripper story by Alan Moore. Can't wait to dig in despite the gruesome subject matter. It was number 4 on the greatest graphic novel list at forbiddenplanet, my current comic reading list.
I've read that. It's awesome.
Hippo Birdies Mother of Snee. Enjoy that wine and cheese. :)
oh I will!
You'll like the most recent one, "Mastermen", it makes a parralel between our world and a world where the Nazis won. Hitler is on the toilet.
Happy B-Day Mr Snee. Glad you're back to the funny books
yeah i just ordered that one!
I had tried subscribing to modern X-Men and a few others once, but I just didn't like it. The art was nice, but there wasn't hardly any text. Those multiverses look cool though. Happy birthday to your mom, Snee!
thanks man! Yeah I'm not in Marvel comics anymore. I like the characters, but the writing is just kind of meh.
Happy birfday to your mom!
lust looks interesting.
yeah actually that was my favorite comic so far. It has Batman (who is Damian, Bruce Wayne's son) and Superman (Clark Kent's son) and Alexis Luther (Lex Luthor's daughter). It's pretty good stuff.
Happy Birthday to your mom!
thanks man!
I just finished reading Mega Man vol 7 and next up I'm planning on tackling Neil Gaiman's Marvel 1602. Looks pretty cool.
never heard of that Gaiman thing. Will check it out.
It's all your favorite Marvel characters set in Elizabethan England! Looks really cool
