Happy Monday Pixlbit! I’m ready to go for another week, and so far I’m keeping with my 2014 Goals. I’m almost done with my first book of the year, as well as ripping some vinyl to iTunes, but more on that stuff in my Quick Hits blog. Today you good people are going to be caught up in What Chris Is Playing!

Good mornooning everyone! I might not have done much this past week, but at least it was kind of relaxing. Here's the lowdown!

Several months ago I decided to start doing some posters of the best NES games. I could have done many more, but I decided to do a total of 21 games. I want to share these posters with you over the next few days. I really enjoyed doing these, and I hope you enjoy gazing at them. Hopefully they'll bring back some good ol' NES nostalgia for you. With each game is the developer and the original NES date of its release.

Well..Finally getting over(Most of) that crud I managed to catch a few days back,that basically stopped up my nose enough to make it pretty much impossible to taste my food so there went my appitite and energy for a bit..It also delayed this which I guess is kinda long overdue...But I seldom bother introducing myself in most sites I have joined..So it's kind of a first plus..Writing has somewhat slowly become part of my hobbies..And that is one of main things that takes up my time.(Although most of my writing takes the form of unpublished muses/poetic rambles..I usually later think could be written better or seem incomplete..)

       For me this week is the official start of the new generation of video games. It seems weird to make that distinction now because what does that mean for phones, tablets and PCs? Nothing. It only means something for consoles and handhelds. The rise of phone and tablet games has made me think the generation distinction doesn’t speak to the entire world of video gaming anymore. That being said, I still play all my games on console or handheld and so speaking of a new generation means something to me. Additionally I have only two of the current gen systems, a 3DS and PS Vita and still play on Xbox 360, PS3 and Wii and probably will continue to do so for most of 2014 if not longer. So as last gen as my week was, and as out of touch with iOS and PC, here it is.

It certainly has been awhile! I am not going to be posting a huge speel right now but there has been a lot to update about game wise and other random stuff, so I am trying to condence it.

Well even though I have said I would be writing modules in December I still haven't gotten around to it. Still, I have an idea running in my head. Not sure how long it'll be but I'm going to try to put the concept on paper, or a word processor sort of speak.

Here’s another list of game reviews I’ve done lately.  Please click on the links and read as many as you can, and maybe even post a comment or two.  I’d appreciate it.  Normally I’d wait until I have a few more reviews written, but my next blog will be a review list too, and it’ll have a theme (check the site’s front page now if you want a clue as to what it is).  So I kind of wanted to get these out of the way before I do that.  See, there’s a method to my madness sometimes.  OK, here are the reviews:

I put down my preorder yesterday and got my Beta code. Now comes the waiting, sigh. Destiny does not come out till September, but the beta start early 2014 (no set date unfortunately). In the mean time this gives me time to work on the ol' backlog. Also picked up Anarchy Reigns, not a bad game, kind of like Powerstone on steroids. Got whipped pretty good in multiplayer so I have need to get a little more solo practice in.

I don't remember what it was called, but during a training meeting at my old job, we played a game where one person wrote a sentence on a piece of paper, then handed it to another person who proceeded to draw a picture of what that person described. The person who drew then gave the paper to the next person, who could only look at the picture and write what they thought it was, then handed it to the next person who could only see what the person before had written and draw a picture of it, and so on and so forth. It was basically a mix of telephone and pictionary.

I was sort of thankful I didn’t get any actual games for Christmas this year. With my backlog already extending across three rooms and various hard drives, I am a bit overwhelmed. I still got some gifts that are gaming related, and I figured I’d share them.

I can’t believe 2013 is over already. It was a good year, all in all, and I actually know what I’ve played through the year thanks to Backloggery.com and my monthly recap blogs. Below you’ll find all the games I beat this year and below that the number of games I bought or somehow acquired. The numbers for PS+ and Free with Gold games that follow in parentheses are included in the total; I just wanted to make special mention of them since I didn’t have to pay for them beyond the membership fee. I've been wanting to write this for a while, but Blake recently wrote something once again condemning this series, and I really think a good portion of the hate against this series is misdirected. Now, this is not directed at people who just don't like or don't get Halo (SanAndreas, I'm looking at you). No, this is for people who act like Halo is something that makes gaming worse, a series that should have never existed. That it didn't earn it's spot as one of gaming's greats. To that, I say bullshit. 

2013 was a strange year for myself. I didn't play as many video games as I usually do, but I still managed to get through quite a few. It was a year full of change, uncertainty, and life adaptation, so video games often took a back seat to myself trying to figure life out. That has nothing really to do with games, but I feel that maybe my life state effects my game choices as well.

I currently have no logical thought process at the moment.  I don't know if I can even put together full paragraphs, so I am just going to put together as many thoughts as I can of things that have happened  and such over the past month or so...

I know that the PixlBit community is hitting F5 continuously with sweaty hands waiting for the site’s Game of the Year article. Well, it will be just a little longer, but while you wait, I figured I might as well blather on about my own thoughts on 2013.

Happy Friday Pixlbit! So is anyone else having problems remembering to write “14” in dates instead of “13”? It’ll pass…sometime in February. Anyways it is Friday, which means another Quick Hits Blog. This blog will probably be short because I had a couple of blog posts this week, but hey I like writing these editions, so shall we begin?

A new Year, a good Job and more games than i can possibly finish. Cool.

    Lots of games provide a main story that lasts ten or less hours that I can say I finished in 2013. Some I still didn’t finish in that time, but at ten hours, I’d say I was interested enough to spend a weekend or two playing them and for that they deserve a mention.
