Good evening Pixlpeeps! I am now writing because I spent the day being all important…not really. It was a mix of sorting baseball cards and tweaking Madden 20 on PC. I love the ease of PC gaming but at times there are problems that good ol’ Google can solve. These are the things console gaming excels at. I had Madden sitting on my laptop for about 24 hours before I started it up, and started tweaking the settings. The graphics were fine but when I went play the audio was choppy, and it was annoying. I thought my graphic settings were too high but the audio problems still persisted. Thanks to Google I realized the fix was easy and all I had to do was tweak a setting in Task Manager and the game ran smoothly. Once this was settled it was time to tweak the sliders and then it was week one of the Cowboys vs. the Giants, but more on that next week. That’s what I’ve been doing. Having a good night!….WASH YOUR HANDS!
Last night was the first night in over a month I had a little bit of normalcy in my life. I ordered a pizza (multiple pizzas, it was 2 or more mediums for $8 each with three toppings), watched bad wrestling and then watch a live baseball game. Not the flashback stuff Fox Sports has been playing (I do love watching the 2002 Anaheim Angels win the World Series), but actual baseball. It was the Korean League, but baseball is baseball, the sounds of the game even with the recorded sounds of a crowd made it more authentic. This is what I miss, and I am happy to have that little bit back.
I'm playing a lot of games from 1985-89 this month but also some new stuff that came up, older stuff, and old but not so old stuff too. I'm playing everything, but I'm thinking about '85-'89 mainly and what it all means to me, music, games, books, film, you name it. So here are a few screen shots and a list of stuff I've been playing, if that's interesting to anybody.
After over a month of not buying Fast Food I caved and currently my pizza order is coming. Game wise I just played NBA 2K, Disney Emoji. I finished cataloging my football cards and I am now currently sorting baseball cards. I'll make this quick becaus there's Pizza coming. Anyways Han shot first, and Lando is the best character in Star Wars because he wears a cape, and runs his own town. May the 4th be with you...AND WASH YOUR HANDS!
I don’t know if it was because there was a Spring Sale, or if it was Golden Week in Japan, or maybe because of all the Coronavirus stuff. But there have been a BUNCH of games on sale lately. A few weeks ago, I got about five games on sale on PS4 for mostly less than ten bucks each! Most of them were arcade collections. Originally they were all 20 bucks, which isn’t THAT bad anyway. But I feel that digital only collections like this are still too pricey at that amount. If they were physical copies yeah I’d pay that. But since they were only digital I decided to wait for a sale. One of the games I got from that sale was the Capcom Beat ‘Em Up Bundle, which comes with seven arcade classic co-op side scrolling beat ‘em ups. There are also a bunch of neat artwork galleries in this game as well, plus you can save your games and even play them online! But since I like to talk about the games in these collections, let’s do that with this one. In the coming weeks I’ll talk about some of the other games I got on sale, too!
So before I almost forget to post something and I get caught up in other exciting things to do inside because no masks, I am here typing up my Quick Hits blog for Friday. I just paid a bill, my back is still a little sore, which makes me in a blah mood. I can’t complain because it is Friday and I might venture into the backyard this weekend. OOOOOOHHHHHH. Let’s get started before I get more snarky and start criticizing things I watch on TV.
Pixlpeeps! I didn't almost forget to post something today (I totally forgot) but since here I am I might as well tease something that I bought last week from my new friend that takes money from my wallet, eBay. It came in today. Have a good night...AND WASH YOUR HANDS!
The arcades were my first gaming experiences, and I've alwasy had a soft spot for the arcade classics. Thanks to Atari, Namco, and the Arcade Archives series, my Nintendo Switch looks like the arcade of my fever dreams. But I've always enjoyed the look and feel of arcade cabinets. When I was a kid in Arizona, the local Ak-Chin commissary always had arcade cabinets like Dig-Dug, Donkey Kong, and Ms. Pac-Man, plus arcades were at grocery stores, movie theaters, travel plazas, and of course, shopping malls.
Pixlpeeps! So I am currently lying flat on the floor because yesterday my back got super tight and being perfectly flat feels good so here I am. I'm actually just sore when I sit so lying flat feels fine and I get to catch up on my audiobook. Hopefully later on today I should be good and back to sorting cards. Later on I'm going to play some NBA 2K....or any other game on my phone. Speaking of phone I'm blogging from my phone today. Cool beans! Anyways I'm off Tony Stark is doing something interesting. Have a good one and WASH YOUR HANDS!
Good morning Pixlpeeps! Before I start replying to massive backlog of replies here, and maybe finish off my Football Card cataloging, I wanted to share this commercial because it has been such a joy to watch The Last Dance on ESPN about the final run of the Chicago Bulls. It sucks how the team was treated by the Front Office, but I still love the Bulls. This was the commercial when I was a kid and I do miss the glass bottles....WASH YOUR HANDS!
Good evening Pixlpeeps! This is going to be a quick update because I am typing this during Jeopardy! and I like Jeopardy! I have to admit that I haven't played a lot this past weekend. In fact I hardly played at all. I played a little Drake Collection, got kinda stuck, and then thanks to YouTube I was standing in the wrong spot to climb down on a rope. Oh it sucked.
Revenge of The Cartels event dropped and Mark and I played it co-op several times over.
Ok so before I tackle the final three teams in the NFL card cataloging I need to write out this blog entry or else I will be doing it at 9pm local time while watching bad wrestling (WWE). Also AEW > WWE Raw/SmackDown and it is not even close. So here I am and let’s get started before I get sidetracked and end up decided I need to find a better way to catalog my cards.
Good evening Pixlpeeps! I just want to say that I have been going through my football cards and I am almost done cataloging them! I currently need to catalog the Steelers, Texans, Vikings for teams and then the miscellaneous and favorite player cards. Fun, right? Also for the last couple of hours I watched Round 1 of the NFL Draft and man the NFL stretched that out as long as possible. Dallas got Ceedee Lamb so it’s going to be all offense this year. Anyways let’s keep this short because tomorrow it’s Quick Hits. Have a good night…WASH YOUR HANDS!
I got both my personal monthly quest games played today, Doughlings for my 70s Breakout-Like game, and Uncharted 2 for my Metacritic pick game. Then for Game Pass quests, I played Worms W.M.D. .
Quick update before I take my 3pm nap/watch Jerry Springer reruns on syndicated TV: In my NBA 2K19 game the video game Bulls swepted the Golden State Warriors and won their 7th NBA title. In the offseason I basically got rid of my bench with the exception of three players, and then I filled my bench with solid role players who can score. I also drafted a player out of SDSU because I have to, and currently the Bulls are 3-0. The starting lineup is the same, I added Malcolm Brogdon from Indiana, the return home of Derrick Rose, and Danny Green. I thought about making a play for KD, Klay Thompson, and Kyrie Irving but I wanted to see if I could build up my starting five to be superstars.
I've actually been playing a lot, thanks to the Genesis Mini (even booted up the SNES Mini to play Secret of Mana yesterday), GameFly, and Yakuza, so I'm just going to dump brief takes on all the games I've been playing.
Yeah I was sorting through cards and forgot. Anyways here is a video that the SDSU Women's Basketball squad tweeted out a couple of weeks ago. I liked it and then I went and bought the single Love Come Down by Evelyn "Champagne" King which is one of my favorite songs that surprisingly I didn't already own.
New weekly Game Pass rewards quests today, but I didn't have time to get the games downloaded because they were interfering with Mark and I playing Borderlands 3 co-op. So tomorrow maybe. I also got some Doughlings Arcade and Journey to the Savage Planet going.
