Psychiatrist Carl Jung, a contemporary and friend of the more famous Sigmund Freud, believed that the unconscious human psyche manifests itself through different roles to the individual. These unconscious manifestations, more commonly known as archetypes, are a universal condition that is an innate part of human existence. While numerous archetypes have been identified, there are main archetypes present in every human mind: The Self, the Persona, the Anima/Animus and the Shadow.

With the PS3 price drop, Nick, Chessa, Jason, and Nate talk about the effectiveness of the cut and if it will pull in a larger market share for the third place Sony system. This leads very naturally into a discussion on the Microsoft-Sony team up rumor, which also brings up a discussion of the proper resting place of the casual gamer (hint: it's not the Wii).

Please note, contents of the celebration issue will be remarkably similar to the contents found inside any other PB & Jason, brief retrospection notwithstanding.

It was in the late 1970s that Masahiro Mori first observed what was later termed the uncanny valley. Through his work in robotics he noted that the human emotional response to his machinations would become more positive as they became more human in appearance and mannerism. This general upward trend in positive emotional response would continue until the robot achieved a level of near human realism, at which point the human reaction would drop off to the point of revulsion. The human reaction would remain in this uncanny valley and would only rise again once there was no discernable difference between the robot and a living, breathing human being.

Jason's played nearly three hours of XenoBlade Chronicles. Check out the replays below!

A: None. Duh. Wake up and smell the PB & Jason, people.

There are a lot of games that are overlooked on different platforms, and despite owning Wario Land: Shake It! for several years, despite hearing it recommended time and time again, and despite the high critical acclaim the game has received, it's one I've overlooked for too long. Tonight, I'm fixing that issue. Now, I've played the game. Catch the replay inside!

The Metroid series is one like no other. It offers a unique experience that has rarely been replicated in 2D and stands completely alone in 3D. Nearly every entry in the series is extremely highly regarded and for many, games like Metroid Prime and Super Metroid are among the best games ever created. Being such prolific games, the PixlBit staff has decided to provide some memories they have of the games and their first encounter with the series.

Oh, don't worry, that's not all this week's PB & Jason is about, but it does take up a substantial amount of airtime. With it is talk of the recently announced Europe-exclusive PSP model, the PSP E-1000, along with a little bit of analysis of what it means to drop the PSP's wifi capabilities.

Join Jason Ross for about two and a half hours of Shadow Complex. Catch the rerun inside!
Did you catch last Monday's PlayBit where Jason and Chris played some levels designed by fellow PixlBit staffer Kathrine Theidy? Well, now the stages are available for download for your own amusement. Chris's counter-op antics not included.

This week's PB & Jason is very deep. It has a great atmosphere. You can tell it's not one of those big fancy-shmancy industry podcasts, because those have color.

Pikmin 1 and 2 were two great GameCube games and some of Miyamoto's most original efforts. A strategy game involving anthropomorphized flower-sprouting plants that could be commanded to retrieve spaceship parts and attack enemies was completely unconventional to say the least. It was also a lot of fun.
Remember Reggie!, the New Super Mario Bros. stage editor released back in 2010? PixlBit staff member Kathrine Theidy has used Reggie! to create 36 New Super Mario Bros. Wii stages, and Chris and I played through. Catch the rerun of the PlayBit inside!

This week's episode comes in two parts, but the most prominent portion of the show is based around some comments made on the Today Show about men in their thirties playing games. The comments enraged Chessa upon first hearing them, compelling her to round up the PixlTalk crew to discuss what was said and how people perceive gamers in America.

It's the 50th issue of PB & Jason! Celebrate the show's mega-normal issue by listening, TODAY!

Never had a chance to try out Four Swords Adventures with a few friends? Have no fear! Bradley, Chris, and Jason are here! The trio will be playing as Link, Link, and Link in the less-common GameCube Zelda title. We've played through the first two stages, tune in below!

After last episodes talk of Project Rainfall, Nick proposes the question of the morality and justification of piracy in the case of games that will never come to our region.

This week's issue of PB & Jason brings lots of news and lots of opinion!

This week's PB & Jason has it all!

Our review code for Ms. Splosion Man has arrived and as such, Jason played the game for his review live! While his experience with the original game is limited, he did his best to make it all the way through in just two nights of gaming.
