Hello all, this is a new feature I've been thinking about for a bit. Every month seems to be littered with, “Must Play" games and few wallets can handle it. Luckily theres plenty of games to play from yesteryear that are easier on your wallet and are just as amazing. This feature will highlight a great game that released the same month that you should be able to find for cheap. Every pick is for our current console (and possibly PC) generation. Let's get started!

So, 2018 was like eleventy billion years long, but at least we got a lot of great games to play. And the Nerds Without Pants even played some great games last year that didn’t come out in 2018. So, seeing as how this is a podcast and all, we decided to sit down and talk about our favorite games that we played.

Welcome, at last, to the annual Nerds Without Pants music special! Yeah, it's waaaay later than intended, but we promise you it was worth the wait. If you don't like it, you can file your complaints to Julian. Find him on twitter @Tyrone_Swift. Oh, did we just spoil one of the surprises? Don't worry, there's more to come, so please enjoy this huge labor of love, preferably without pants on.

Welcome to one of the specials we have planned during our annual hiatus! It's just not the special we had planned to release first, but we'll cross that bridge later. Join Julian as he does a solo show about some of the smaller game's he's played recently. Maybe you'll hear about something you never heard about before, or maybe you'll come away from this episode with some new games you want to try. Or, you'll just roll your eyes because Julian doesn't like Celeste. Either way, enjoy this bite-sized special edition of Nerds Without Pants, and keep an eye out for our big music special!

Welcome to the last episode of Nerds Without Pants for 2018! It’s been a heck of a year, and we’re closing things out with our biggest guest to date: none other than Ryan Scott of The Geekbox and The Comedy Button! So strap in, because it’s time for our annual breakdown of the video game industry that we like to call the State of the Generation podcast.

Welcome to a bacteria-filled edition of Nerds Without Pants! Julian and Patrick were both sick for this episode and definitely don’t sound 100% but leave it to Julian to eliminate 99.9% of all the coughs, sniffles, and sneezes to bring you yet another quality podcast. It’s our last standard format show of 2018, so let’s get to it!

If you thought the last episode of Nerds Without Pants was super-sized, you have another think coming! This is our longest show so far, but every minute of it is pure gold. We have the host of the Clickbait Update podcast (and NWP super contributor) to tackle a massive AMA for Stage Select. So go do a bunch of chores and let us entertain you!

So after eight years, Rockstar has finally released a follow up to their beloved sandbox Western Red Dead Redemption. The game is a critical darling, has outsold the entire Metroid franchise in two weeks, and all seems right in the world. Yet, I found quite a few issues that many reviews were mitigating or did not bring up which kept me from personally having fun. To the point where seven hours into Red Dead Redemption, I called it quits. This will not be a review, just offering my two cents for those on the fence.

Welcome back to a thoughtful Nerds Without Pants! Patrick had a smarty pants Stage Select topic, so we enlisted the smartiest pants person we know: Mike Fallek of the Hackthought Podcast. What follows is comedy, heated debates, and the debut of the Patrick Leap? Listen and find out, Pantsless people!

Hello, boys and ghouls! It’s nearing the end of October, which means it’s time for the annual Halloween Havoc edition of Nerds Without Pants! We have some fun discussions in store for you, so let’s get right to it.

Gah! What the hell happened? Well, Julian will explain, but basically, this edition of Nerds Without Pants is problematic. Wait, that’s not the right phrase. It’s plagued with problems. Lots of problems! To quote The Doctor: “I’m sorry. I’m so, so sorry.” Hopefully you power through the audio issues, because we have former PixlBit Features Editor Jesse Miller to talk about missing in action games. Please be gentle in the comments; Julian agonized over this one.

Welcome back to a regular episode of Nerds Without Pants! That’s right, we’re here with Stage Select, Consumption Junction, AND special guest Joey, AKA Superstep. Oh, you lucky people!

Wait, what's this? Two special episodes of Nerds Without Pants in a row? Yes, friends, it's true! Our...modified recording schedule led to some, er, confusion. Luckily, we had special guest and long time NWP commenter SuperStep on hand to pick up the slack. So buckle up for a non-spoiler, deep dive discussion about Yakuza Kiwami 2 and the Yakuza series as a whole.

Welcome to a slapdash special edition of Nerds Without Pants! Scheduling and tech woes have kept us from recording a proper episode, but instead of leaving our wonderful audience high and dry, Julian has cobbled together this impromptu resurrection of Digital Mystery Tour, our failed video game music podcast from...4 years ago? Sheesh. Anyway, we hope you enjoy!

Welcome back to Nerds Without Pants, dear listeners! And welcome back Stage Select to our normal format! We thought it would be a few more episodes before we’d be able to bring it back, but phase two of the NWP 3.0 beta is in full swing. As such, it’s a lengthy Stage Select, followed by a tiny bit of Consumption Junction. Hey, baby steps.

Hey, we’re back right away, so I guess the hiatus is really over. Huzzah! On this episode of Nerds Without Pants, it’s another all Consumption Junction edition with Julian and Patrick. But tune in next time for the return of Stage Select, as well as a special guest!

After a longer than intended hiatus, the Nerds Without Pants are BACK! A lot has happened since the last episode of the show two months ago. New jobs, new adventures, and the announcement of the beta phase for NWP version 3.0. Enough with the preamble; let’s get to it!

To say that EA is having a bit of a problem with public perception would be a massive understatement. In the past year they have come under fire for predatory micro transaction practices, cancelled a highly anticipated Star Wars game, stated that single player games are a dying breed, and shuttered yet another well-regarded development team. Their lackluster E3 presentation didn’t do much to help matters. Sure, EA is doing gangbusters as far as sales and revenue, but they have burned up so much good will with their customers that it’s easy to see a scenario where they find themselves in a tough position, relying on their yearly Madden and FIFA games to keep them afloat. As someone who has a complicated relationship with their brand, I have some ideas on how EA can win players over, and move strongly into the upcoming next generation.

Welcome to a bittersweet episode of Nerds Without Pants! It may be one of our best episodes of the year, but we’re missing Patrick as we discuss what music the Pantsless Ones would strut out to the wrestling ring with. We also have a couple somber announcements, so this is certainly an episode you should not miss. We love you all!

Welcome, True Believers! If you’re reading this when it goes live, it’s been a full week since Avengers: Infinity War came out in theaters. Plenty of time for you to have seen it by now. Or, if you’re Julian, three times! So, it’s time for a special spoilery discussion all about the movie with Friend of the Show John Gholson! Let’s jump in!

The Nerds Without Pants are back with an episode full of quick time events, animated blood and gore, and tales of medical woe. We won’t be back for a little bit in our standard format, but fear not, as Julian has a special in the works to tide you lovely people over until we’re back. Enjoy!

It’s another hefty episode of Nerds Without Pants this week that flirts with the 3-hour barrier. Hey, let it never be said that NWP is a poor value proposition!

Welcome back to a Nerds Without Pants, edited on the fly! Julian cut this together between moving, so if it’s a little rough around the edges we apologize. We have a great show in store for you though, so let’s get to it!

Welcome back to another jam-packed edition of Nerds Without Pants! Technical difficulties can’t keep us down, and we’ve got a lot of fun shenanigans all set up for you, including the introduction of the Mega Buster of Destiny ™, some of Patrick’s worst jokes ever, and more!

Welcome back to Nerds Without Pants! We are very excited to bring you the first show of our new format for 2018, including the debut of our latest closing segment: Pak Watch! We hope you enjoy it as much as we do, and let us know in the comments or on twitter what you think of the new segment. Comments and criticisms are always welcome!
