Remember Radio Shack? It was an electronics store that is now mostly defunct, but they were everywhere back in the 70s when my father bought Pong for us kids, Christmas, 1976.

15 Years of Super Mario Galaxy!
Way back in 2019 when I went to PAX West in Seattle, I saw a new handheld console called the PlayDate. It was simple, yellow, and had a black and white screen. And a crank you turned on the side! And it was just as charming as heck and I wanted one for some reason! Well I finally got one, so let’s take a look at it!
Had a half-day to play. My wacky weekend is Tues/Wed this week.
We got adventure, brawling, FPS, open-world action, and a racing game in this group.
Basically, it's Darkest Dungeon on PS4 and Torchlight III on Xbox One, but I also played a single 9 inning game of MLB The Show 21 and got my Farm Together lands down to 14. It turns out AirForce Delta Storm didn't work and I had to return it, but it was the first demo on Official Xbox Magazine's demo disc 3. So I played it there and everything else that was on it.

Hey, it’s another episode of Nerds Without Pants! It’s a pretty good one, I think. This post is lackluster at best because I got two hours of sleep last night, which is not even long enough to sleep through this episode. That makes sense, right? Cool.
Miniature versions of classic game consoles with pre-loaded games has become very popular in the past few years. First we got mini versions of the NES and SNES, and then SEGA came out with one for the Genesis. And now we have the Turbo Grafx-16 Mini! It was supposed to come out last year, but got delayed. Because of the Corona virus, I didn’t think it would ever come out. But a couple of months ago, I got mine in the mail! I just now got a chance to play it, so we’ll take a look at all the games on it. Because there are so many games (almost 60), I’ll have to split this up into several parts over the next few weeks.
I finished up what I want to play in Golf with Your Friends and then dug into Dishonored 2 for a while.
I'm playing a lot of games from 1985-89 this month but also some new stuff that came up, older stuff, and old but not so old stuff too. I'm playing everything, but I'm thinking about '85-'89 mainly and what it all means to me, music, games, books, film, you name it. So here are a few screen shots and a list of stuff I've been playing, if that's interesting to anybody.
I don’t know if it was because there was a Spring Sale, or if it was Golden Week in Japan, or maybe because of all the Coronavirus stuff. But there have been a BUNCH of games on sale lately. A few weeks ago, I got about five games on sale on PS4 for mostly less than ten bucks each! Most of them were arcade collections. Originally they were all 20 bucks, which isn’t THAT bad anyway. But I feel that digital only collections like this are still too pricey at that amount. If they were physical copies yeah I’d pay that. But since they were only digital I decided to wait for a sale. One of the games I got from that sale was the Capcom Beat ‘Em Up Bundle, which comes with seven arcade classic co-op side scrolling beat ‘em ups. There are also a bunch of neat artwork galleries in this game as well, plus you can save your games and even play them online! But since I like to talk about the games in these collections, let’s do that with this one. In the coming weeks I’ll talk about some of the other games I got on sale, too!
The arcades were my first gaming experiences, and I've alwasy had a soft spot for the arcade classics. Thanks to Atari, Namco, and the Arcade Archives series, my Nintendo Switch looks like the arcade of my fever dreams. But I've always enjoyed the look and feel of arcade cabinets. When I was a kid in Arizona, the local Ak-Chin commissary always had arcade cabinets like Dig-Dug, Donkey Kong, and Ms. Pac-Man, plus arcades were at grocery stores, movie theaters, travel plazas, and of course, shopping malls.
Like I said, I saved the best for last. These final Genesis Mini games are the ones that impressed me the most, or at least impressed me that they got put on here in the first place! Most of these games have never been on a Genesis collection before, and some have never been released at all! So let’s take a look at them!

So another E3 has come and gone, and it’s another year where I was denied a press pass. Ever since 1996, I was going to E3 pretty regularly, but for some reason a few years ago, they stopped letting me in. And yet somehow I was able to get a press pass last year. But not this time! They may say it’s because the numbers of the site I write for are too low, but I’m beginning to wonder if it’s really because I’m just too weird for E3. And if that statement has you intrigued, then please read on for my unique reactions and commentary on things I read and watched about this year’s show.
A couple days ago, Mark had The MEG and we watched it. Fun movie. Totally rediculous but not as wacky as Sharknado. Effects were pretty great. Jason Statham was good. I spotted a woman who was in one of the John Wick movies as a badass martial arts villain. The love interest of Statham's character was in Pacific Rim. I don't know what else to say about it. Popcorn movie. Get it while it's hot.
Saturday and Sunday I try to wake up a little later than usual but for some odd reason I was up at my normal time. I don’t know what it is, but I was up, and I started planning out my weekend before I dove into another book. Anyways here I am a couple of hours later catching you good people up with my what I am doing before I head out to the local library to see what new offerings they have in their little store, before I check out the thrift stores down the street from the library and see what new CDs they have because I’m always on the lookout for more music to add to the library.
Anyone familiar with the typical programming of Adult Swim, won’t be the least bit surprised by their latest published video game, Pool Panic. It has the aesthetic of many of their shows, the offbeat humor, and preserves the general oddity of their late night flavor. It proclaims to be the least realistic pool simulator ever, and it’s not an inaccurate description. Pool Panic is actually a puzzle game dressed up as a pool game, using the basic premise of billiards as the foundation of the experience.
