DuckTales Remastered

I'm still kind of stunned that this was announced. A remastered version of DuckTales has been developed by Wayforward and is being published by Capcom for the Wii U eSHop.

I was obsessed with this game when I was a kid. I loved the music, the Mega Man-styled gameplay, and the fact that it was based on Disney's DuckTales, one of my favourite shows back then.

The graphics looks great and Wayforward have an awesome track record, so I'm definitely purchasing this game day one.

This is just so awesome.  I never had this game but I have heard SO much about it.  This is just great news.

Wow, that's good news! Looks like Nintendo is about to get a game that'll make owning the Wii U just a little more alluring. They've still git a king way to go though.

I'm dying for some more retail games on my Wii U. There have been some fun downloadable games worth owning, and I loved New Super Mario Bros. U, but I'm starving for a new game on it. I'm going to get Resident Evil Revelations (which I had intended on getting for my 3DS) on it, just to have a new game, lol.

Capcom also announced a new Mega Man is on it's way, but this is more tangible, so I'm more excited for it.

New Mega Man!? Omg, that's awesome! Need it! Want it! When?! Will it be MM 11, or that MMX retro title they were talking about? Will they resurrect Legends 3? Finally, a reason to LIVE! ^_^ AHHhHhhHHhHHH!

Actually, not long after the "announcement" of a new Mega Man game, Capcom retracted the statement saying they're just having meetings about the future of the franchise or something.

This is great news! Wayforward did a great job with Bionic Commando, and even managed to bring my beloved homeboys Billy and Jimmy Lee back from the abyss of mediocracy. They better have the Moon theme in there, or I'm not buying it lol. Tongue Out

Moon Theme! SO MUCH YES

I've liked every Wayforward game I've played.  Aliens Infestation for the DS was really fun, and Lit on WiiWare was a pretty cool puzzle game. Oh, and Might Switch Force! was crazy addictive.

It's a possibility, nothing is confirmed. They either creatng a new sequel or HD remaking. The rumour came about after some domain names and box art that seems legit.

I hope soEmbarassed

When I got home this evening and read my email from Capcom's PR dept., I nearly exploded with glee.

By the way, thanks for reading my Runner 2 review.  Here's my reply I posted on the GamerDad.com site.  I'll put it here to save you the trouble of having to go back there.

There are hidden retro levels in some of the stages if you find a hidden Famicom-shaped cartridge in that level.  Then you'll be whisked to a retro-themed stage.  After you find a retro level in a stage, you can access it any time you want to on the map screen.  So if you have found a retro level on stage 1-4, for instance, when you are on that space on the map, you can press the 'retro button' to access that level.

No problem, it was a great review! So that's why the Retro button was greyed out. Good to know!

Never actually played this as a kid, though I did like the show and theme song, but looks awesome. Can't say no to a good cel-shaded platformer with Capcom music, and what I've played of it online is cool, so nice they rebooted it.

The game is crazy fun. I think you'll enjoy it.

This is such a big deal at my house. We loved the show and are looking forward to this. Scrooge may be a penny-pinching old coot, but he's a Scot! Gotta love him.

I loved the show, too! In fact a friend of mine recently picked up a bunch of the old Duck Tales comics and we were going through those just before this announcement. Now i have Duck Tales on the brain!

Hopefully it comes out for other consoles than the Wii U, as I've never played the game and everyone tells me how awesome it is.

Yeah, I think I inititally heard it was only on Wii U eShop, but it's coming out on XBLA and PSN as well.

Just bought Kingdom Hearts 2 today. So at least I'll have some Donald action to get me psyched up for this one. Scrooge is a badass! For an old skinflint anyhow....
