(fans of Beverly Hills Cop will get the title reference)

Hey, everyone! I hope all of you are continuing to be safe and healthy. It's nearly 5 p.m. on Saturday as I'm typing this. It was a busy, hot work week and it was nice to oversleep a little. I made a big mess of deer meat tacos for lunch with plenty of leftovers, so I'm full, relaxed and happy.

Got a few more games for my Switch Lite since the last post.

I found a used physical copy of LOZ: Breath of the Wild for $35 at a local pawn shop (they also had a copy of Link's Awakening for the same price but I wanted this more) so I picked that up. I've only played up to the point where the big tower rises and is erected. I can tell I'm gonna love this but right now it feels good to own it. I can also tell that I wish I could play this on a bigger screen but that's what I get for buying a Lite. No big deal.

I also bought the following digital games: Flashback, Letter Quest Remastered (played this on the Vita, loved it), Hyper Sentinel (good indie shmup) and a couple of FTP titles: Fallout Shelter and Asphalt 9.

I'm trying not to neglect my other consoles but man, the Switch is irresistible right now. Doing my dailies for Animal Crossing New Horizons, of course. I'm about to have 7 residents but the island is still in need ot a lot more work. It feels weird watching the amazing progress that players on my social media feeds have made on this game and I keep wondering how I get to there from where I'm at now.

One last thing is that, during Memorial Day Weekend, I went home to visit my parents and siblings. I used my sister's laptop to mod my SNES Classic over Christmas break and I took this opportunity to do some more modding. Because I'm dangerously close to filling up the free space on the flash drive, this may be the last time I mod any further but I love the changes I made this time. I took off any games that didn't run at all (e.g.,Uniracers, Wario's Woods) and either replaced them with a different rom or a different game. The last time I modded I also added some Super Famicom titles by mistake (can't read Japanese) so I found some English fan translations this time for certain games (Tactics Ogre LUCT, Live A Live, Trials of Mana).

The big thing I added was GBA titles and I must have added like 30 games: all the Pokemon titles, the Golden Sun titles, the Final Fantasy Advance series, Mario & Luigi Superstar Saga, Mario vs Donkey Kong, Fire Emblem, Advance Wars 1 & 2, TMNT (the one based on the CGI movie; better than you'd think), Metroid Zero Mission & Fusion. Those are just the ones off the top of my head.

Now this device is truly the greatest console I own. No room for doubt anymore.

I'll stop it there. Please continue to keep safe and cool because, holy hell, summer has arrived.

That Tactics Ogre game is one of my favorites of all time. I played the remake on the PSP though.

Breath of the Wild really is an amazing game. But I haven't finished it yet. Got distracted.

I love Letter Quest and just rebought it on Xbox One. I played it originally on Xbox 360. It's remastered now and I hope I get a whole new set of achievements so I can 100% it again. There aren't enough cool word games out there. There was Bookworm Adventures 1 and 2 by PopCap but they never made it to consoles.

Sad Uniracers won't run, but I would still love to mod my SNES to carry TMNT: Tounrnament Fighters, and some other classic rentals.

Yeah, that was weird. Must've have been a faulty ROM.

I did add TMNT: Tournament Fighters although I've never played it.

You should play it; it's actually pretty good, if memory serves.

Too bad you didn't get Link's Awakening.  That's my number one favorite Zelda game!

Progression in Animal Crossing is a bit slow, but don't worry, you'll get there.  Let me know if you have any specific questions.

That's cool that you modded your SNES Mini. I'd do that, too, if I had the knowhow and time.

One GBA game I'd like to suggest to you is Astro Boy: Omega Factor.

Astro Boy OF is on there. I need to start that sometime.

I'll pick up Link's Awakening eventually. It's still at that store, believe it or not.

I'm not tech-savvy so luckily modding the SNES Classic. All you need is a computer/laptop that runs the latest version of Windows 10. Download the app (called Hakchi), connect the SNES C with the USB cord to the computer. Of course, you'll have to download the ROMs separately.
