So, in the last 4 months or so since I posted a blog entry, the only big life change was when, at the end of July, I was in my first fender bender. It was an accident and it was my fault (I was cited for failure to yield) and no one was hurt (thank god), but the 1999 Honda CR-V was totalled. The front passenger side looked like it was caved in. I didn't have the car for very long (6 months shy of 2 years) but it was a good vehicle and it hurt to see it go. Again: accident, no one was hurt but I liked that car. 

Two years ago I did something that I truly regret: in desperate need of money, I sold my 3DS XL and knowing full well that my purchases couldn't be saved (or that they could and I didn't want to prep for that). I bought quite a few digital games and physical copies for that wonderful handheld. It didn't even matter to me that I had an older model (it wasn't a "new" 3DS). 

On my last blog post, I posted about the return of my podcast, The Past and The Pending and posted a link. However, I switched hosting sites and forgot to update that url link so one or more of you encountered a 404 screen. The good news is that I have the new url here and a new episode was posted last week. If you're a fan of the film 2001: A Space Odyssey, you may enjoy this one. 

Nope, it's not a prank. 

I met my baby nephew, Patrick, while visiting my brother and sister-in-law Sunday afternoon. Pat is adorable like you read about and I think he's in good hands. I wasn't there for long: maybe 90 minutes tops before they had to leave for family pictures. I'll see them again this coming Sunday when the baby shower drops. My brother and sis-in-law tried for adoption for 4 years and they lucked out with this little guy. 

Once you don't commit to certain things for a long period of time, such as keeping lines of communication open, it can be a hard habit to break. So that explains why I haven't posted since my one BaD entry last month. I suppose I need to try blogging more often just to get back in the swing of things. 

Hello to everyone here on Pixlbit. It's been way too long since I last blogged but 2018 wasn't an easy year to keep in touch for reasons I'll soon explain. My last blog was in late March '18 and that was after I had been let go from a decent paying job and not knowing what my next step was going to be in regards to keeping my residence and not falling behind in bills.

So, allow me to get this uncomfortable news out of the way. I recently lost the job I had (working as a machine operator for a factory that makes specialized copper fittings for plumbing) due to one bit of tardiness that couldn't be excused by upper management. I was under a 90 probationary period where, among other things, if I was late for any time that couldn't be excused, I would be fired. I was late one day for 5 minutes due to a traffic jam near the workplace and because I called the company hotline (to notify them about the problem) too close to shift time, the tardiness wasn't excused. So the best job I've ever had (definitely in terms of pay and benefits) ended just like that. I feel so stupid. I know that it won't be long before I get another job but I worry that it won't be as good as this one in terms of pay. So I'm job hunting again. I'm not worried about my prospects but that I had to start all over again so soon felt like a gut punch. It hurts to tell anyone about it even though I'm sure most if not all of you have been in this situation.

So this month is almost at a close but at I will have made at least one BaD entry before its over for 2018. So, where have I been, in case anyone/no one has been wondering?
