Swag Report for Day One of E3

There's bags, t-shirts, little trinkets, and more bags.

Hello, my name is Chessa DiMola, and I'm a swag addict. I'm also guilty of creating several new swag addicts, for which there is little hope of ever recovering from the horrible addition.

E3 is without a doubt a time for publications to congregate in one area and deliver the latest breaking news to gamers around the world who are unable to attend the wonderful event. However, while providing content is important…so is collecting as much free stuff as possible.

Unlike last year, this year's E3 seems to be devoid of the exorbitant amount of swag that loomed around every corner. Disregarding the fact that most of it was junk, the few pieces that are available for grabs this year are surprisingly great, leaving me shockingly happier to have a few quality pieces than eight bags stuffed to the brim with items that I (begrudgingly) tossed away months after last year's event.

Although it is our job first and foremost to deliver video game coverage, we thought that everyone might like a little glimpse of the treasures we are bringing home with us.

Below is just a small peek of what the seven of us managed to capture yesterday.

The Zelda shirts were handed out after previewing Skyward Sword and the Rock Band shirt were given out during the closed door events.

A large assortment of smaller swag including a Kirby patch, Rock Band sticker, The Sims 3…thing, a wipe cloth from somewhere, a dog tag from someone, personally built Lego men, a Wisp from Sonic Colors, and finally a soybean and oats snack bar that visually resembles poo.

Not surprisingly the most abundant piece of "swag" to get on day one was bags.

So you got a lot of bags but nothing much to put in them? Bummer.
