Scarygirl Coming to XBLA, PSN, and PC
Based on the graphic novel of the same name, players can dive into the game in just 2 weeks.
Square Enix announced today that they plan to publish Scarygirl on Xbox Live Arcade, PlayStation Network, and PC. Appearing as soon as January 18 on XBLA, with a January 24 PSN release to follow, players will be able to action-platform with the titular, tentacle-armed protagonist. Scarygirl is haunted by bad dreams and sets out on a quest to determine their meaning.
Along the way she'll be aided by friendly animals featured in the graphic novel, specifically Blister the giant octopus and Bunniguru the "mystical, kung-fu rabbit." While based on the characters and settings found in the graphic novel, the story is wholly original and is not based on the upcoming feature film. Though the story is original, visually, the game will align with the art style found in the graphic novel.
Scarygirl will be able to attack enemies with her tentacle arm, which can be upgraded throughout the game. Local co-op will also be available, with the second player embodying Bunniguru.
Currently the price of the Tik Games developed title is unknown, but new details should be available soon.
