Nier Director Not Pleased with Wii Graphics

Yoko Taro explains that he did not find the graphics of The Crystal Bearers appealing due to the SD nature of the Wii.

While at Tokyo Game Show, Yoko Taro, director of the upcoming Square Enix title, Nier, had a few choice words for Nintendo and the Wii.

After checking out the latest trailer for The Crystal Bearers he mentioned that "the graphics in Crystal Bearers are hard on the eyes." He went on to say that though hard on the eyes, he feels they are "the highest level for Wii [but] SD graphics are just painful."

Taro suggested that Nintendo remedy the situation by using "their profits to make a backwards compatible HD Wii, or release an optional upconverter for the Wii, or give the television industry money to properly handle SD video."
