Extra items, early access to DLC, and enhanced battlelog features for $49.99
EA’s new service ‘Battlefield 3 Premium’ (available today) will offer players early access to upcoming digital content, exclusive in-game items, and enhanced battle log features. The package is priced at $49.99, a $25 savings over purchasing each expansion pack individually. The offer becomes live today to players who opt for the early access package of Battlefield 3: Close Quarters on the Playstation 3.
New games include LocoCycle, Matter and Wreckateer.
Microsoft held their E3 2012 conference this morning and many game announcements were made. These include two new Kinect games, something new from Twisted Pixel, Kinect functionality in two EA sports titles, and more.
The portable title will feature the first female protagonist.
The PlayStation Vita is getting Assassin's Creed III, but it won't be the same title appearing on consoles. Assassin's Creed III: Liberation will feature the series' first female protagonist and will be released at the same time as the console title this October.

Last month, Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning developer Big Huge Games was suddenly and unceremoniously shut down after their parent company 38 Games missed a loan payment to the state of Rhode Island. Just like that around 80 employees were out of work. While some former employees were able to secure work with other area developers such as Zynga East and ZeniMax Online, a vast majority were still unemployed. Until Epic Games stepped in, that is.

Nintendo showcased the redesigned controller for the upcoming Wii U.
Today at Nintendo's Direct Pre-E3 presentation, the company formally introduced the redesigned Wii U tablet controller, dubbed the Wii U GamePad. Furthermore, Nintendo talked about various features the controller's touch screen will have as well as its functionality.
