Joaquim is always telling me, "Don't go to Kotaku."  Well, I went to Kotaku, and at the top of the page it said Amazon had some Switches to sell.  So I lucked out and bought one, for regular price of $300.  Plus tax.

Finally, today, I got it in the mail. Right now it's charging and downloading Zelda. I wanted to have it physical, but the day I bought it, it said they wouldn't be in stock until July 25.  So...I had to buy the download today when I got it.

Waiting.....

In other news, I might have some GOOD news regarding writing to announce soon. We'll see....

Gasp... You got a Switch! Enjoy this Zelda adventure.

Why you tell him not to go to Kockatoo?

Posted on July 24, 2017 1:09 AM

By always he meant a couple of times. Kotaku's useless for the most part. I use neogaf, and reddit, and that's what I suggest to him.

I'm a creature of bad habits!

I have to say though - Zelda is AMAZING!

Our Snee exaggerate? Of course he would. That's what writers do after all. They take the mundane day to day and spice it up.

Glad you got a Switch. I'll be following shortly all things being equal. I wanna hear book news!

Posted on July 24, 2017 6:10 PM

Good thing. I hope to hear of your adventures.

thanks man!

Glad you got a Switch.  I can't imagine played Zelda as a download title, though!

Right now I've got ARMS and Splatoon 2, but I haven't played them yet.  I've been super busy at work!

Posted on July 24, 2017 6:09 PM

I might hold off on arms, but I think I'm gonna by splatoon 2.  Never played the first, and I hear the second is quite good.

Posted on July 24, 2017 5:28 AM

...Hah..I might be makin' a leap to a "next gen' system sometime soon...We shall see.

I was holding off for switch until xmas. I will play Mario and Zelda then.

Posted on July 24, 2017 6:08 PM

I didn't plan to get one so soon, but I knew I HAD to get one before Mario came out so I could play that day one. I have to admit man... it's pretty freaking cool.

One of us! One of us!

Welcome to the club, sir! Enjoy Zelda, it's a damn good one.

Posted on July 24, 2017 6:08 PM

thanks man. I like this club.

Why do people dislike Kotaku? I've enjoyed their articles. *shrugs*

Posted on July 24, 2017 6:07 PM

they're kind of snarky, and a bit bitchy, but I enjoy what they post too. *shrugs in agreement*

Posted on July 24, 2017 10:20 PM

I just think that there are better sources of gaming info.

Posted on July 24, 2017 10:24 PM

true. But I usually rely on you to find the cool stuff on reddit.

Posted on July 24, 2017 11:39 PM

LOL I leave quite a bit out from the chat. Don't want you guys thinking I'm a bot.

Posted on July 25, 2017 1:43 AM

I've always found AV Club to be way more up its own ass than Kotaku, but maybe that comparison causes me not to notice as much? And a LOT of Redditors I've read have similarly toxic attitudes, so I think it might depend more on the author?

*shrugs as if trying to start a shrugging contest, notices no one wants one, walks away, but then shrugs defiantly at the rest of the group, now in a cold and distant "beyond"*

I just heard ex-Wired games column writer, and podcast host, Chris Kohler is now features editor at Kotaku.

Posted on July 25, 2017 2:21 AM

I used to read Wired. I don't read nay magazines now really. But it was a good one.

Posted on July 25, 2017 2:22 AM

I kinda read the headlines of Kotaku more than the articles, but I do check it a couple times a day.

Posted on July 25, 2017 2:32 AM

I've never read Wired, just listened to his Game/Life podcast associated with the magazine. I've never really checked ou Kotaku; although, I hear about it all the time.

Welcome to the Switch Party! Let me know if you wanna add each other. I plan to get splatoon 2 soon once money is stable. Hope your enjoying Zelda, I didnt get into but i might be giving it another chance.

Posted on July 25, 2017 4:43 PM

sure, how do I add people?  I might get splatoon as well.  I like Zelda a lot. I know it's different from the old ones, but I feel it really works, in context with the others, and also (maybe more so) without.

Posted on July 26, 2017 3:54 AM

I sent you a friend request. On your page which you can access by your profile picture in the corner there is a add friend option. You need their friend code however your miitomo is connected to your nintendo id so you will also get friend suggestions. Your friend code is on the profile tab under your picture/avatar. You also find your friend request on the add friend tab.

Congrats! I don't think I've been to Kotaku in years. I forgot why but it was something I read years ago and I've never been back.

Congratulations! Enjoy Zelda. It was really great! I'm just waiting for the 2nd part of the DLC to drop. I beat Master mode relatively quickly. I'm not going about doing a 100% run on it since I spent far too much time on normal doing so. You should also check out some other titles too. I think the Switch will be a great system for indies and rpgs. God knows I'm not even halfway through Disgaea 5
