So I've covered a wide range of topics and I'm really sure what these next three blogs will entail. I'm more or less out of ideas. I mean there are always things to talk about for sure. I try to steer away from anything too controversial so nothing religious or political gets mentioned. I sure could have talked about February being black history month, but it's a touchy subject. I for one am not qualified to discuss the subject and if I did I feel I wouldn't do it justice.
So today I decided to switch from my Nokia 1020 to a Samsung Galaxy S4 just to see if I like it. My boss said I can hang onto both until I'm sure I'm happy.

Well hello good folks of Pixlbit! It is a breezy Wednesday here in sunny So Cal, but there are rumblings that there might be rain. RAIN! For you folks who actually get different types of weather, Southern California seems to go crazy during rain (I once watched a guy drive in the middle of two lanes when it was sprinkling), and my friend I like to mock the local news for their STORM WATCH 20XX coverage. Anyways getting back to Grab Back Week, today it’s all about the two Lego games I knocked off Mount Backlog and what I am playing.
First off, during these years my friend Mark and I started going to FuncoLand and the flea markets and we picked up all the older systems like the Atari 2600, Intellivison, Colecovision, NES, SNES, and Genesis. I replayed some old games I loved and found some new ones.
It’s hump day folks which means we’re half way to happiness and half way through the final week of BaD! So let’s keep this baby rolling.
I got a message this morning indicating that it was back in stock. it's $70 but if I had the money I'd buy it again. I miss running around the vast areas exploring the beautiful scenery.
I made a very minor update to Frothy Bird over on itch.io. The splash screen at the start was really bugging me, so I made it a little more acceptable and ditched my weird crafty font and just used the blocky font I used elsewhere. There are still several other minor things I'd like to fix up, but this is one I could do in a single evening without any real hiccups.
So today was pretty laid back. I did a little reading of my textbooks. I had a pretty chill practice and took a nap. Sometimes I wonder where the days go by because I really don't do all that much in the day.
Well a year can go by pretty quick. But there is Persona Q for the 3DS and Persona 4 Arena 2 will also be coming out some time THIS year. Just wanted to share this because I know a lot of you guys are big Persona/Atlus fans. Which means you might already know this, lol.
Many of you know of my love for Realm Reborn, I played it when it was in Beta on PS3 and I have been enjoying it on the PS4. However I might not be getting it, atleast not the collectors edition like I previously wanted. I cant justify the 80 bucks, not after what I read. Now yall know I dont judge a game by a review from someone, If I like what I see in gameplay and what I read Ill give anything a fair shot. The reviews Im holding against Realm Reborn arent about the game itself but the customer service of Square Enix. Several people have taken to forums and reviews to pass on how Sqaure handles game problems, especially hacked accounts and I dont like it. What happened to them is they got hacked and when Sqaure noticed the behavior of the hacker that goes against the games terms they banned the persons account. Now this is common place in MMO's I know but when it takes 2 months to get back into the game, theres a problem. Blizzard it normally only takes one ticket/phone call and they get you back on in a matter of minutes as long as customer service is open. Atleast for me they have, Square isnt handling things well on their end. "Well Nicole are you seriously that worried you will get hacked?" Yes, because let me say this, I normally always do atleast once in a MMO. I got hacked even when I had the darn Athinucator or whatever WOW called it. Hackers learn the tricks to get by all that crap. I cant justify 80$ bucks if I have a risk of being banned with no chance of playing or getting back on for 2 or more months since Square cant handle their crap correctly not to mention it would prolly take ten thousand contact trys to get the process going. Getting a hold of Square to get the problem solved is a problem in its self too. Especially when I know it will happen because it always does, lol! Ill prolly buy the $40 Standard Edition, It will suck missing out on the awesome extra's of the Collectors but I rather play it safe then fucking sorry down the line....
I've been a slug the last week. Just ask Bandit, he currently rates me as most boring human on the face of the earth (but he loves me anyway).
Sometimes the simplest ideas can prove the most difficult but also the most satisfying. Take the iOS puzzle game Cyro, for instance. There’s some story about little creatures trying to build a bridge to the moon but what it all really comes down to is guiding a plank through a maze. Of course, the mazes are extremely intricate and, oh yeah, the plank is constantly rotating. You can bump the wall once and keep going but twice and it’s back to the beginning or the most recent checkpoint. Checkpoints are a godsend because they also restore your one hit point. The developer, thankfully, made it easy to control the plank. A circular d-pad on the left lets you easily move in any direction while a button on the right will restrict your movements to the four cardinal directions. And though the graphics are very minimalistic (nothing wrong with that), I love how much fun the developer had making the mazes. I’ve played the first two “worlds” and rarely has anything been abstract. One maze looked like wine being poured into a glass. Another was shaped like a human heart, complete with working valves! The dynamic mazes can be pretty tricky. I was stuck for a while on one that had moving gears that left little space to get through. Still, it’s very satisfying to best a tricky level. Cyro is a strange game but certainly a fun one.
So after the small success of The Huge Adventure, it was only natural that Crash would get a sequel on the GBA with Crash N-Tranced. I played this one before Wrath of Cortex, so this was the first Crash game that started to make me a lot more lukewarm to the series. This comes from two main problems: Repeating Huge Adventure's biggest issue and a lack of effort.
It has been ages since I played Pokemon...well not really. I have Pokepark 1 & 2 for Wii (Does that really count?) I guess in terms of main titles I have failed to play anything. I only bought the Heart Gold Remake due to the fact that Gold was also the last game I played respectively. It's odd to think I've skipped on the 3rd through 7th generations (I think thats how many there are)
