Here's the main battle theme from the indie game I scored, Pirate Code. Give it a listen, mates!
I am now able to return to my regularly scheduled life. I have an order confirmation and payment validation for a PS4. Which means that I should have one coming sometime soon.
Well the little box is available at Target now and I am waiting for the go ahead and buy it nod from the wife, yes I said wife.lol. I am excited about the ability to dev my own games plus the possibility of seeing friends like Ben and Matt to have their games on a console. Anyway, I am still working on revamping Punk Tuesday and hopefully I can watch a Horror movie this weekend to catch up on that too.
So I got a PS4 and have been playing what little free time I have this weekend playing the hell out of it. Right now, I'm really enjoying the new hardware. The interface is a huge leap above the PS3's, giving the speed when transferring from games to menus that I get from my 360. It feels really nice to pause the game, go to the actual main menu, and go back right to where I was in the game.
Hey everybody! I know I’ve been gone for a while, but I never left for good. Anyone that used to follow my 1Up blogs are more than familiar with bouts of absence from the blogging scene. It just seems inevitable that at some point, I end up needing to take a break from blogging that ends lasting for days, if not weeks at a time when the need finally hits. But this time around, what drove me to “silence” was the undeniable fact that there is no way I can blog with the same regularity (more or less) that I used to. Without boring everyone with the details...I had many priorities that started falling to the wayside in favor of posting multiple reviews and blogs on here to satisfy this inner need I had to keep up with my Pixlbit friends. So I had to take a step back from writing on focus my attention on the stuff I had been neglecting.
Hey guys, I made another cover of a gaming song. This time it's Face Shrine from Link's Awakening, and because it's me, I made it creepy as fuck. Enjoy!
The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds is being released soon, and I’m really excited about it. As a big fan of classic top down Zelda titles, I’m super happy for this one since it’s a sequel to the SNES A Link to the Past. So in honor of the release of this new Zelda title, here are my top five favorite Zelda characters, just for fun!
Well its all good news today. Just this past week, I got my glasses and was able to wear contacts again so my vision is restored. The eye doctors still didn't tell me if there is something wrong or if its gone but they told me I can wear glasses and contacts again so I am a happy camper. A week and half or so was a little too much without being able to see.
Picked up Ratchet & Clank: into the Nexus on Tuesday and played the first hour or so. Controls work great, jumping around to different platforms in zero-g. I love all the characters. I’ve been singing that Wang Chung song, "Everybody Have Fun Tonight", all week after seeing it humorously placed in one particular cut-scene to great effect. Graphics aren’t as brilliantly sharp and detailed as I expected though. I seem to remember being more wowed by the graphics in Crack in Time when that came out. It could be that, being exposed to next gen graphics recently, I’m already expecting more from games. Still, it’s colorful and the environments really interesting, so I’m not complaining. I'm having fun tonight. I'm having Wang Chung tonight!
For those with Xbox Live Gold Memberships, every month Microsoft tags a few games and offers them as free downloads. The Games with Gold programoffers two free games to Xbox Live Gold Members each month.
I used to try and keep the various components of my life separate – gaming with the gamers, music with the folkies, park stuff separate but equal, etc. I have come to realize that I am unable to keep these things compartmentalized. Bits of all of them had a tendency to bleed over into the other areas and there wasn't anything I could do about it. I came to realize that all of these things are the threads that make up the tapestry of who I am. Hopefully, people from all the circles of friends I belong to will read this and understand what I'm trying to say, because it's all tied together and I can't unknot any of it without the whole thing unraveling.
Over the course of this generation, network functionality has radically changed the landscape of console gaming as we know it. No longer are games a one-and-done deal; the industry is pushing hard to present their games as longer term investments, with a slew of DLC and network features implemented to extend the life of a title for weeks, if not months, after launch. For me, though, this approach has had the opposite effect.
