So last week i showed you part 1 to the Xcom Declassified,s gameplay video so what kind of guy would i be if i left y'all hanging so heres part 2 to Xcom Declassified.
We went over Microsoft's mistakes. Its now to put Sony in the spotlight. They had started out with the PS1 to a strong start and didn't have any notable mistakes. The PS2 though was a difficult system to develop but it didn't play a big role but the PSP is when they started making hiccups. I console like experience on the go. While it sounded great, a big problem is that it didn't have dual analog sticks and used proprietary software which received a lot of negativity. Get rid of UMDs and having harddrive only console a good idea? Not quite. The PSPGo, asking everyone to rid their existing PSP library with no consolation was asking a lot. It also came in a time frame where peoples' expectations was a true successor.
Treasure of the Rudras is a Squaresoft JRPG for the SNES that was never released in this country. This is a travesty. It is one of the best RPGs on a system that is loaded with amazing RPGs. I’ll rank them: Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy VI, Terranigma, Fire Emblem: Genealogy of the Holy War, Dragon Quest VI, Treasure of the Rudras, Final Fantasy IV, Mario RPG, Dragon Quest V, Tactics Ogre. That’s the top 10, and Rudras is right in the middle of it. Have you heard of this game? If you’ve heard of it, have you heard enough good things to make you want to play it? If you have heard some pretty good things, have those good things pushed Rudras ahead of other games on your backlog? The guess here is that the answer to one of the above questions is “NO!”, and so you have missed out on a classic on par with the SNES Final Fantasies.
how much of it you deem yourself the master of, you are still the world's student.
2005 - Advance Wars: Dual Strike [DS]: If I was to be stranded on a desert island with a solar panel and one video game system, I would have the DS and Advance Wars: Dual Strike. Maybe with all that time on my hands, I could finally figure out how to beat this difficult turn-based strategy game containing some of the cutest cartoon tanks ever drawn.
Hey guys, so I'm back to the world of the sober, and I don't like that. So I'm escaping soberland to videogame land. And it is glorious. So what have I been playing?
Dude. I am a god. Not this pansy ass Jesus shit where he's like mortal and can die and shit. I'm a proper fucking deity! Not really. I just fdell like one! Due to the hostile nature of the first paragraph of this article, it has been removed. Unfortunately, David "The Responsible Adult" Gutsche (Plus10Damage's Editor) felt that we need to protect you — consenting adults — from the words that have been uttered here. They are not fit for children to read, even though this article is not directed to them or even legal for them to read. Unfortunately, it contained words about narcotics and sexual abuse involving a fictional weapon that fictionally penetrates fictional anuses in a fictional universe inside of another fictional universe. Now the Xbox One seemed like it was mounted with what have been many mistakes but Microsoft had made many with it prior to its release but before we get into that, let’s dwell in the past. Now this isn’t singling out Microsoft. I will get around to Sony and Nintendo as well in my next blogs. Let’s start with though with the original Xbox. There are two things that stand out. The first thing is the horrible controller that was ridiculously big. It was insane how large it was. It was nice the eventually got around to releasing a smaller one after all the criticism. The second and last that I can recall is that they left the system in the dust when the 360 came out. They had nothing for it. All those Xbox fans had to switch over immediately to play anything new.
I would not say I will never shop there again, because I will, but how in the hell do you put a game on sale and not have it instock within a hundred miles and can not order it? Of cousre I can try match pricing at other stores but some stores say it has to be in stock in the other store before they give the sale price. Sorry, just venting....
So I found this out a couple weeks ago and thought I'd share it with you guys. It's called Chrontendo, giving you ever Famicom/NES game ever to come out in chronological order. I first heard about this thanks to the new Retronauts (which, by the way, if you haven't heard yet, check it out! It's definitely my favorite VG podcast). The man who has taken on this daunting task of playing every Famicom/NES game is known as Dr. Sparkle. Each episode is in video format; Dr. S. gives you the date the game was released, then plays it and comments about the game. Not only have I learned about many interesting games, but I've learned some history behind VG companies too. There is much to learn from Chrontendo. I know that Aboboisdaman and others who love the NES would really enjoy Chrontendo, so be sure to check it out. I can't stop watching them.
Since I uploaded the latest of my CD collection blog, I thought I’d also do a quick blog of “What’s Chris Playing”
Hey Pixlbit! I think I am coming down with a cold. Who does this? Who does this especially in the middle of July? I woke up with it and I am not too happy, and the best part is, I started taking Vitamin C a couple of days ago. Well played Vitamin People!
Take a quick look and you will see mounds and mounds of DLC for games out there. Extra maps, new levels, skins etc can be nice but should this stuff already be with the game? Instead of nickle and dimen you out of every cent. I understand business models, we make a product you buy it we get money to pay the people that make the product on and on. I mean look at the old school NES games, they had no DLC, we go back and play those all the time. So I do not think it is to keep the game fresh, but keep th pocket full. What are your thoughts about this? Or do you care?
Today Irrational Games announced two DLC packs for Bioshock: Infinite. "Clash in the Clouds" focuses on more combat missions, which I care diddly squat about, is available now
My sporadic output is due to a shitty work schedule. I'm only here tonight because I had to cancel my class due to emergency root canal surgery. Pity me! But lucky you, I've got time to tell you about all the obscure games I decided to play this Summer. Here it is in list form!
I don’t know whether or not people consider Battle of Olympus (by Broderbund) a NES classic. I feel like if there is any consensus at all, it’s that the game is fondly remembered, but never really ranked up there with the likes of Zelda, Crystalis, or Metroid in public estimation, and maybe doesn’t even merit the cult status bestowed upon Zelda II, Guardian Legend or Clash at Demonhead. I’ve named seven games (including Battle of Olympus) and I wonder if you can put them in order from Dave’s favorite to Dave’s least favorite. I’ll save you the trouble: Crystalis, Zelda II, Battle of Olympus, Zelda, Clash at Demonhead, Guardian Legend, Metroid. Was that the order you’d have put them in? Math lesson for you- there are 7!, or 7*6*5*4*3*2 ways to order a list of seven games, so you probably didn’t order them in the exact same way.
So this isn't really a problem with consoles released in North America, cause Wikipedia tends to have pretty extensive and complete lists of games for them, at least for my purposes. However, there are so many various iterations of PCs/Macs that I have no damn clue where to start in some instances when looking for certain games I played on PC. Wikipedia has lists, and there are even forums dedicated to this topic, which are helpful, but even with those resources, the search can be frustrating, since it's not as simple as just plugging "list of NES games" into Wikipedia. Even with IGN's exhaustive list, the fact it's alphabetical and my uncertainty of the titles makes it a bit, well, exhausting.
So I came into work today an quickly discovered they blacklisted all gaming websites. It sucks big time because I did most of my commenting while at work. So sorry to say I may not get to comment as much as I used to. Thankfully I just got a iPhone so i can still check in now and then, and I will probably be checking in more at home. This shouldn't impede too much on doing reviews and such, I will have my review for Capsized soon and you may be hearing me on the Backloggers Anonymous podcast as well. I hope I get used to this dumb iPhone touchpad, that's one thing I miss about my blackberry 9930, the keypad was ace.
