In today's blog, The Original Ser arrives in Boston for PAX East.
"I reposting this one here because I feel like writing another blog about videogame music and considering this one is couple of year old now. It would only make sense to share some more VGMs later on."
I'd like to start out by saying how happy I was to see how many people commented on my intro blog post. Some of you people I remember or recognize from back over at 1Up, and some of you are altogether new to me (and vice versa). I'm very happy to see an active online community dedicated to talking about games and gaming culture, and I'm glad that we have a second chance at that opportunity since the shutting down/limbo status of the former home of so many users here.
Well I finally was able to get me and new computer. Im paying on it through Flexi Compras like I did my last computer and I am really happy with what I bought so far. I go me one of the All In One's even though everyone has told me they will be tough to upgrade Im not worried about it. I barely up grade any thing in my computers for the main fact I never save the money for it. I played WOW for a bit on it. It was still downloading important files so it was kind of laggish when playing but visual wise its looks amazing so Im quite happy at the moment. Have a lil bit of hope that if it keeps running games well I might just be able to play The Elder Scrolls Online. I signed up for the Beta and my chances of getting in are pretty good so Im gonna take that as a positive. I rarely act like I enjoy them but I actually do love playing MMO's. They can be a pain at times but I like creating characters and playing with with friends on them.

Koudelka is a turned based RPG which was released by Sacnoth in 2000 for the PS1. I have sort of a love/hate relationship with it. I love the story and characters. But the gameplay has it's flaws if you ask me. It was called a "survival horror" style RPG and it uses a grid based system for combat. It does have a very deep story to it,which I think is very interesting. The lead character is Koudelka Iasant, a young gypsy girl with psychic abilities. Takes place in Aberyswyth,Wales in 1898 at a monastery called Nemeton. Her two cohorts are a young adventurer named Edward Plunkett, who she meets upon her arrival at the monastery. And a Bishop named James O'Flaherty, who was sent there by the Vatican to retrieve a certain item. I won't get too deep into the story,as it is complex. Some might say it's supernatural, but not the least bit scary. No gore in this game, just crazy RPG battles with an assortment of vile creatures and people. Weapons will break on you, which is rather annoying at times. As they are hard to come by. Items can be hard to find period, unless you are standing right on top of them.
Those bastards at inxile have done it. They are not really bastards, I am just supremely annoyed at the moment.
With 1up closing down, my girlfriend wished for me to save a few choice blogs from going down with the ship. This is one of those blogs - completely unedited. Enjoy.
Recently, since my last "Audio Extravaganza blog" got so many positive responses, I've been thinking about doing a podcast myself. Might not be too soon, but I'm mulling it over in my head. In the meantime, since this Saturday is my birthday, I think I'll post a couple air checks from when I used to DJ, and that way none of you can tell me shit about how bad my voice sounds, cause it'll be my birfday.
The real reason is my airchecks are somewhat lenghty, and Soundcloud takes forever to upload anything, so I want to give myself some time. I'll be introducing songs with my voice from now on if I'm able, but I want to keep the Soundlcloud tracks a bit more minimal than I did on that last blog, as I know it slows down at least my computer to be on a page with that many embedded videos and widgets, so I'll use my best judgment on whether my voice is used outside of the music part of my blogs. On to today's blog,
I beat Tomb Raider and as well as Dead Space 3. I have enjoyed both games but right now I will talk specifically about Tomb Raider. There are things I would love to see improved or added in a sequel to a fine Tomb Raider game and here is my list. Swimming would be first. It left it out completely. You can’t be a seasoned explorer without being about to explore hidden areas within the water and caves hidden beneath water. To be more seasoned and not as a novice in Lara’s first grand adventure, she should now be able to be more acrobatic. I don’t see this really happening but it would add to the more puzzle elements if we can get that mixed in the platforming like old Tomb Raider games.
As some may know that when THQ shut down that Koch Media/Deep Silver bought the rights to Volition which included Saints Row series. I at first thought all my series were dead but KM plans to release a SR4. I wont lie, Im not too thrilled. SR3 was a good game to play and to have a crazy time with but I at the same time lost a lil bit of my fan faith to the series itself.
How have they been working out for everyone? Any issues? Any complaints? Any proposed improvements?

In today's blog, The Original Ser isn't talking much, but still manages to show off some cool stuff.

Witchblade. One of my favorite comics. Has been for a long time. Sara Pezzini would be such a great character. And the Witchblade is almost an entity itself. It is a symbiotic relationship they have. Over the years they've done some crossovers with The Darkness. Two good games came from that franchise. So why not give Witchblade a game. Could be really incredible.
March of 2003 saw some big name games released, like Pokémon Ruby and Saphire and The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker. The game that interests me today for this blog, though, is Zone of the Enders: The 2nd Runner for the PS2, a superb take on the old Japanese trope of mechs in space. An action masterpiece by Hideo Kojima, The 2nd Runner was the only game to stand toe-to-toe with Tecmo's Ninja Gaiden reboot on the Xbox, or so I've heard. I've never had a chance to play any ZOE game, let alone The 2nd Runner. Its fluid controls, intense action, and (at the time) astounding graphics cemented The 2nd Runner into gamers' hearts and, as a result, its fans have been bugging Kojima for 10 years now for ZOE3 (which, supposedly, is in development now). Fans were thrown a bone last year with the release of an HD collection containing the two PS2 games but we're still waiting for ZOE3.
I got the Vita a couple of weeks ago from my wife for my birthday. Today I got the gifts from my girls. Here they are.
The wife has decided it's time to clean out all the stuff we've had squirreled away over the years, so for nostalgia's sake I thought I'd give you a look at some of what I've been hoarding.
