Listen to this week's (best ever issue) of PB & Jason and find all you could ever want to hear about my thoughts of a sequel to Disney Epic Mickey. Spoiler alert: This is one 2012 release I'm not at all excited about.

Jesse and I found ourselves alone here on PixlTalk, but that didn’t stop us from having a lively, albeit lengthy conversation. Seeing how this was our last episode of 2011 we decided to take a look back at this momentous year for gaming. We cover all of the ups and downs that made 2011 what it was, while adding some of our own personal perspectives. If you’re looking for a great way to close out your year of gaming then look no further than this episode of PixlTalk. Hope you all enjoy and make sure to contact us at pixltalk@pixlbit.com with questions, comments, or suggestions you have for future episodes.

It’s Friday and that means that it’s time for another installment of Missing in Action! For those of you that missed out on previous installments, MIA is a bi-weekly column where we highlight a game or franchise of old that could use a little dusting and a current generation update.

Welcome, faithful listeners, to the first official episode of PixlTalk Crew #2! Joaquim sits in with Patrick, Rob, and your new host, Julian. We talk about our personal picks for Game of the Year. Obvious games like Uncharted 3 and Batman: Arkham City are mentioned before we stop to give some love to underdogs like Dead Island and Dragon Age 2.
Star Wars: The Old Republic is BioWare/EA’s attempt to overthrow the current MMO giant, World of Warcraft. As a person with minimal exposure to MMOs I can honestly say that I would rather wield a lightsaber than a regular ole’ sword any day. That said, I decided to venture out to BioWare and Gamer Grub’s Best Buy Star Wars: The Old Republic release event in Union Square in Manhattan on a chilly Monday night. I went home loaded up with Star Wars goodies, PB & J Gamer Grub, and a scratchy throat.

With the release of the free “Super Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition 2012” update out now, I’ve had the seminal fighting franchise on my mind. Every Christmas, I have a 100 match melee with my cousin to see who the greatest Street Fighter of the year is. It’s time to get back to training, but as my thumbs get back into fighting form a thought occurs to me: there are some characters that have yet to step up and throw down in the Street Fighter tournament. Who are these possible “New Challengers”, and what could they bring to the table that sets them apart from the already unique and diverse cast of characters?

This week's PB & Jason takes the idea of exclusive game content offered as retailer-specifc preorder bonus to the task, specifically in relation of Final Fantasy XIII-2. In short, I think the idea is ridiculous, and I'm surprised to see Square Enix using this tactic for a Final Fantasy title.

Now for the fun part. We've had an opportunity to tell you about the best in each genre and on each console, but today we're pulling out all of the stops and weighing in on the absolute best game of the year. The nominees for this award encompassed only the winners of each of the categories in the past two awards, severely limiting the overall pool of possible choices. The results were surprising, but they speak for themselves. Welcome to the final day of the official...

Who ever thought that haircuts would come to the forefront of a video game discussion podcast? I certainly didn't, but I guess there is a first time for everything. This week is all about Capcom which means fan backlash, zombies, and emo-kids are all up for discussion and that's only the first 15 minutes. Hope you all enjoy and make sure to contact us at PixlTalk@Pixlbit.com with questions, comments, or suggestions you have for future episodes.

After yesterday's Genre Awards, today we bring you the biggest and best of the year for each of the respective consoles, as well as the best downloadable title of the year, irrespective of the platform it was released. Unlike last year's awards, we didn't segregate multiplatform titles - these were considered alongside the exclusives on each system. Welcome to day two of the...

I could sit here and type out the things I talk about in this week's PB & Jason. I could tell you I go over my thoughts and opinions about the PixlBit Games of the Year. And yes, I could talk about how I mention the NXE and the PS3 lawsuit, or tell you another gift idea for the holidays.

With 2011 coming to a close, it's that time of the year once again. A time to reflect on the year past, the experiences had, and the games that defined another year in the history books. Today begins the first of three days of awarding the absolute best games of the year across both genres and systems, as well as one game of the year that transcends all boundaries. These are the...

It’s my favorite day of the work week and you know what that means. That’s right true believers it’s time for another exciting installment of Missing in Action!

As hinted at a couple episodes ago, PixlTalk is going weekly once again. Rather than hearing the same crew every week, each crew will occupy alternating weekly time slots and tonight's episode is the first from the second crew. While Julian will ultimately take over the hosting duties, for this week previous podcast regulars Nick, Chessa, and Jason help break him into his new podcasting role.

Last Friday, Nintendo of America announced that the Nintendo faithful and loyal supports of Operation Rainfall would be granted one of their longstanding wishes with the stateside release of heralded RPG Xenoblade Chronicles this upcoming April. The news came at a precarious time for Nintendo. With Skyward Sword having been released this past month, Nintendo’s upcoming release schedule was looking just a little more than barren.

We've all played this one (I hope). Super Mario Bros. 3. It's one of the top-selling games of all time, even before being rereleased. Mario first dons a power-up that lets him fly, there are colorful, challenging stages that are well designed, and there's even something of a fun and interesting narrative throughout the game. SMB 3 is a classic, and now I invite you to join me as I play through some of Super Mario Bros. 3.

Well, it's official, snaking is officially gone from the Mario Kart series. After Mario Kart Wii, it was up in the air if future iterations would provide players with such ability, but it appears Mario Kart 7 solidifies the permanent omission. As an advocate of snaking, this is a sad day.
