So in my attempt to get back on track for this month, yesterday I went back to listening to my 50 tracks a day on iTunes to the point where if I did the math correctly, to make up for my week of not listening to any new stuff, and to hit my goal of 1,500 tracks that I listened to for the month, all I would have to do is listen to 60 new tracks a day. Not bad. Also I am back to moving my DVDs to digital and I am back to blogging on Monday and Friday. Wooooo! Anyways let's get started!

Another One Off Mount Backlog

Lego City Undercover - Steam

Ok so remember when I had all those frame rate issues? Well turns out it was the shadows effects that was doing it to me. I turned that off and my game went from 30s with drop offs when there was a lot on the screen, to a solid 60 with no drop offs. This made the game a hell of a lot more enjoyable and I spent the weekend knocking out the final seven levels and then roaming around Lego City looking for other goodies.

My current stats. I looked up the brick for unlimited dynamite because it makes it easier in game, and turbo in all cars because Fast and Furious. Also I should have looked up the one for unlimited color gun but I didn't, maybe today I will. So let's talk about the important stuff, what I thought about the game.

Overall the game is a lot of fun. It really is Grand Theft Auto Lego Edition, minus the hookers. There is a lot to explore in Lego City, and a ton of unlockables that are found when free roaming or when playing through the chapter. Speaking of chapters, each chapter contains two missions, with the last mission being the one with the stud counter that everyone is used to. Controls are the same as any previous Lego game but the one thing that is new is Chase's tablet that he does all his work with. The directional pad controls this and with this tablet he can take pictures, look for footprints, scan an area, and listen in on conversations. The character wheel is the same but during story mode you unlock new abilities for Chase, and they appear as costumes in the character wheel. For free play you can change your lineup to include characters you unlock.

The graphics are nice with this game with a mix of Lego bricks and some items that can't be destroyed like barrels, boxes, buildings, etc. There are a ton of movie and TV references within this game that at points I found myself taking screenshots of the game. The way TT handles violence is hilarious. When the mob guy wanted to make a guy talk he fed them ice cream until they got brain freeze, which would easily make kids laugh.

There are a ton of unlockables within Lego City and within the story modes which means tons of replay. The nice part about the game is that the city is broken up into sections so you can see what you need to find within a section. There is a little item to discover/chase for each character disguise, a couple of super builds that can be unlocked if you have enough pieces, puzzles to unlock characters and vehicles and randomly hidden gold blocks.

My one gripe with the game has to be the graphics headache it gave me right out of the box. For a game that is a couple of years old and built for the Wii U, I don't get why it needed more graphics power than Grand Theft Auto V, and why it had so many bugs from the start. I wish it was polished when released because I would have enjoyed the beginning of it a whole lot more.

I'd like to think that Lego City on the consoles had a more stable release and maybe you should play it on there first. There is a lot to the game with the same Lego humor. Sure its the Lego Universe in Grand Theft Auto but it is fun, and after my PC problems, it plays just fine. If you're on the fence I would say wait for a price drop before jumping into the game because after you play through it to get the full 100% completion I don't know if you would continue playing the game.

Fist Of Jesus – Steam

I may or may not have purchased this game on Easter Sunday (yeah terrible Catholic here) but I was waiting for a bit of a price drop and it did...on Easter Sunday.

You play as Jesus and Moses and you fight zombies. It's kind of like Sega's Streets of Rage except you only move in a little section while punching and kicking zombies. You hit sheep, and boxes for health replacements, and you continue until you hit your magic number for zombies. After that you can learn a new move, try out that move in a tutorial section, earn some Denar (cash) and use it to upgrade Jesus or Moses. Each level you complete you are rated in stars with three stars being the highest, and you progress through the period. I'm still in an early village so I can't tell you if the game gets more difficult or if you get better prizes but I can tell you is that I dig the art style, and find the game hilarious.

Anyways that is all from my little windy section of Southern California. I am still catching up with everyone's blogs and I'm down to 20 WOOOOHOOOOO! Anyways have a good week!

That's all for now, more later!

And that is why having only Steam for a while made me come back to consoles hard. I love solving IT problems, but it's not something I care to do at home all the time. I had a similar issue with RE4.

Man I thought it would be install, play and sometimes tinker. I'm glad I have the option to play games on other devices if things don't work out.

Lego City Undercover is more graphically hardcore that GTAV?  damn.  MAybe it's rendering all those legos!  Just don't step on them!

That's the thing, the requirements seem to be higher than GTA V but yet GTA V ran fine on my laptop while Lego had issues. I'm going to start tinkering with the graphic settings again to see what's the sweet spot for my laptop.

Duuuude, as someone who owns a lot of Lego, I'm glad I haven't done that in a long, long time. *knocks on wood.

I just beat LEGO City: Undercover as well.  And I just wrote my review of it.  Be on the lookout in a couple of weeks when it posts.

Now I'm working on playing some more games to review: Wonder Boy: The Dragon's Trap remake, Bye, Bye Box Boy, and The Disney Afternoon Collection!

Nice! Are you going back for the other stuff to get the 100%? I bet you're going to cover that in the blog.

I like the Disney Afternoon Collection but its a game I'm going to wait on before buying. I think it will be a good sale game.

Ive just never have gotten into the lego games fully. I played one of the batman games with an ex and it was fun just didnt keep my attention. I have wanted to play the the hobbit one though. I might get undercover on the switch when it drops in price.

I get you, they're not for everyone. The thing that bothered me with the Hobbit is that they used audio from the movie, and it just sounds odd. If you enjoyed the story try out the Hobbit. They all drop to around $20. Lego City is fun.
