Here is another Genesis game that I'd never heard of but has good music. I like the variety of this first level track.

I’ve read about Alisia Dragoon, but I never got around to playing it. That stage 1 music sounds great though!

Some of this gets close (enough) to actual instruments. Impressive. Sounds orchestral, even, despite very obviously not being performed by anything but electronic media.
