I’ve got another batch of reviews I’ve recently written over at GamerDad.com.  Please click on the links and read as many as you can, and maybe even post a ‘like’ or comment or two.  I’d appreciate it.  Sorry nothing clever this time.  OK let’s begin!

Unplugged: Pac-Man the Card Game

As many of you may already know, I’m a huge fan of Pac-Man.  So when I saw this Pac-Man card game, I had to get it and try it out!  I don’t know how long it’s been out, I got it on sale at Amazon for 5 bucks.  But I figured I’d review it anyway.

Sonic the Hedgehog Toys in McDonalds Happy Meals

There’s a new Sonic the Hedgehog live action animated hybrid movie out now, and McDonald’s just did a promotion with Happy Meal toys featuring characters from the games and movies.  I got a few of them, so let’s take a look at them!

Ayo the Clown (PS4)

When I was a kid, clowns were not considered scary like they are now.  Granted that was a long time ago.  But back then, clowns like Ronald McDonald frequently graced TV commercials, and even video games featured clowns as main characters, like Mr. Do!, Circus Charlie, and Kid Klown.  And now comes another not-so-scary video game clown with Ayo the Clown.  One day Ayo’s puppy pal gets dognapped, and it’s up to Ayo to go on a 2-D platforming romp to find him.

Parkasaurus (Switch)

Dinosaurs from another planet have crash landed on Earth, and it’s up to you to give them a good home in a special dinosaur zoo.  What kid wouldn’t want to design and run their very own dinosaur park?  Parkasaurus is a simulation game very similar to titles such as SimCity or Zoo Tycoon.

Z-Warp (PS4)

Z-Warp is a fast paced vertically scrolling shooter with classic styled graphics and sensibilities.  In the future, a spaceship with a new warp drive goes missing, and it’s up to you to pilot a special craft to recover the black box and find out what happened.  But story doesn’t really matter, just shoot everything that moves and avoid all the bullets!

Marble Maid (Switch)

Around this time of year, many people do a bit of Spring cleaning, so here’s a game about that.  Roll a housemaid inside a ball as you navigate mazes, try not to fall, and run over dust bunnies before finding the exit in a given amount of time. I’m surprised SEGA didn’t sue, as even the logo of this game looks like the Super Monkey Ball one!

Pretty Girls Rivers (PS4)

Play a version of Mahjong with slightly different rules, all the while unlocking outfits for a bevvy of anime ladies in Pretty Girls Rivers.

Mokoko X (Switch)

Stop me if you’ve heard this one before, but in Mokoko X you play a classic styled arcade game to reveal pictures of anime ladies.  So yeah, a lot like Pretty Girls Panic.

And that’s all for now!  Thanks for reading my reviews and posting ‘likes’ and comments!  I really do appreciate it!  Later!  --Cary

I'll have a Sonic Happy Meal character for starters and a Parkosaurus for the main meal.

And what are you going to have for dessert? :)

I guess I'll have a slice of Z-Warp please.

The "evil clown" thing probably got its start in the 80s, from Pennywise the Clown in Stephen King's It. I'm pretty sure that came from either King remembering some loud, scary clowns in his childhood or his kids being frightened by clowns. Garfield and the Simpsons had their own obnoxious clowns as well (Binky the Clown and Krusty the Clown, respectively.)

A lot of "indies" seem to be thinly veiled "homages" (to be nice about it) to well-known games. Eastasiasoft seems to really try to push the limits of what the new, more tolerant Nintendo will accept as far as nudity. We've come a long way since Mortal Kombat on SNES.

Someone at Film Roman must've had a problem with clowns since both Garfield and Friends and The Simpsons were done by them.  Binky the Clown was really only featured in the cartoons, not so much in the Garfield comics.  He first appeared in the Garfield Halloween special, which was really good.  Binky got pretty popular, too, as he even got his own shape in the Garfield Fruit Snacks.  Those fruit snacks were really good, too, by the way.  Can you tell I'm a Garfield fan?

Yeah Eastasiasoft can be pretty dicey sometimes.  One minute they're releasing family friendly Ayo the Clown, the next minute a Pretty Girls game or Marble Maid.  But they're pretty supportive of me so I will review most of what they put out.  Although even I have my limits.  I probably won't review Seven Pirates H for instance. :)

Both Binky and Krusty had episodes where they were framed for robbery by impersonators and had to be cleared by Garfield/Bart. Binky's episode actually predated Krusty's episode.

I think the Krusty episode is probably more well known.
