So not that im defending Xbone but everyone including me is knocking the $500 price tag, but unless you bought the cheapie ps3 at launch yes you did pay this price.

And here is some more launch prices for past systems.

So i bought a 60 gig ps3 at launch and did pay 599 for it but with that said it was backwards compatible so i could play ps1,ps2,and ps3 games so it was totally worth it, but the Xbone is just being ludicrous lol.

Yeah, $500 was not unexpected imo, and I don't consider it outrageous. It's just I better know 100% I own my games if I'm paying that to own a console. Not that I'm buying it anyway, but they could have still had my attention.

I was expecting more of a $400 range. I got the very pricy PS3 as well but I was also paying for all the backwards compatibility that it came with which was kinda worth it. I feel Xbone is a little pricy for what it is bringing. But then again it also includes a Kinect.

yea well they can keep the kinect and let me play 360 games on it and take away 24 hour internet and then i might be a player but as is no thanks.

I'm surprised they are going above their 399.99 Xbox 360 launch price for Xbox One. I thought PS3 made that mistake already at 599.99.

Im sure its because of the kinect.

And cloud computing, and TV TV TV, and Sports Sports Sports. All stuff I don't need.

I can't even lie I got PS3 at launch, but hey that was my parent's screw up not mine. I'm more than likely going to be paying at least half on my PS4 this time around, so I'm more price concious

Lol sure blame it on mom and dad lol but at least it was a smart investment unlike throwing away 500 bucks on an over priced pc wanna be system lol.

I paid the $600 for the PS3 just like you. Still can't believe I did that. But I did get a lot of use from it. And the backward compatibility rocked. I'm glad Sony learned from that and decided to go with a more sane price point for this launch.

I waited about a year to get my 360, and a couple of years to get my PS3.  So I will probably be doing that with the new consoles as well.

I waited 4 years to get a PS3. Now I am just not getting  anything. I know a few people are with me about just focusing on my Retro games and 3DS,Vita, and current gen games.

I bought the 40GB model PS3 maybe a year or more after launch. I believe I paid $500, cannot remember. It's not the price tag of the Xbone that bugs me though. I kind of expected that price.

I bought my PS3 used. It's a 60-gigger first-generation PS3. It lasted for two years before the YLOD took it down. Sent it to Sony and they sent me back a refurbished unit of the exact same model, looks like new! I wasn't thrilled by the YLOD but I was thrilled with my replacement PS3. You better believe I take care of that backwards-compatible baby.
