I'd honestly hope it were done better than Bioshock.
Despite my grumpiness, I haven't written it off completely yet. If it looks really interesting at release I might bite anyway. I prefer third-person RPGs. Even in the 1980s, though one of my first RPGs was a first-person RPG, I preferred CRPGs like Ultima where you could see your characters, over ones like Wizardry or Might and Magic.
EA isn't really fixable. They've been pushing games as a service for years, and they were doing heavy duty DRM before Microsoft did back in the 80s and 90s. Honestly I wish they'd be broken up and and their properties sold off to other companies, preferably not Activision Blizzard, because they are awful. They turn everythingthey touch to shit sooner or later. When you can't even keep a studio like Maxis alive, your management is shit.
Unfortunately, they also have a monopoly on both American and association football, so as long as they have a guaranteed stream of Madden dollars and FIFA euros there will never be an incentive for them to change.
Really looking forward to Fire Emblem on Switch. It looks awesome. I wish we'd seen more of Prime 4.
As for Nintendo's classic console, I'd be just as happy if they skipped the N64 and went straight to the Gamecube.
I was sorely disappointed by Fallout 76 being an online-only game. The setting would be great for an offline Fallout RPG.
I guess I'm tired of developers turning everything into first-person shooters (see: CD Projekt's Cyberpunk 2077) and online microtransaction games. Bethesda was one of the last bastions of single-player gaming in the west. I guess hoping for a follow-up to New Vegas was a bit much to ask. At least Nintendo and Sega showed stuff I want. Glad that Smash Ultimate will have favorites like Cloud in it, and I'm excited about having a real Fire Emblem SRPG on Switch.
I'd like a Switch port of TMS #FE, as well as Wind Waker HD and Twilight Princess HD.
I watch all the big Japanese developers. Not interested in EA, Activision, or Ubisoft, and most years it seems like Microsoft just introduces a bunch of non-game-related crap.
This was me on learning that it was likely to be an online survival game.
I have been playing Xenoblade 2 off and on. Tales of Hearts R was the game that made me get a Vita. I've been replaying FF6 on the SNES Classic Edition and Doom on the Switch.
This was one of my favorite 2013 games, and given how many great games came out that year, that's something.
I wish they'd make a Midway collection for PS4 (and X1, though I don't have one of those) and Switch. I actually have a lot of arcade classics on my Switch, and am enjoying the Nintendo arcade games (Mario Bros, Vs SMB, and now Punch-Out!! Waiting for Vs Balloon Fight and hoping for Donkey Kong!). My favorite Midway games other than Mortal Kombat were Defender, Joust, and Spy Hunter.
Crazy Taxi was a pretty fun arcade game in its day. A lot of games ripped it off. Did you ever play The Simpsons: Road Rage? I think Sega even got that one taken off the shelves for copyright infringement.
