A little Contra, a little Devil May Cry, a little...I don't know...Gradius. It's a blend that works surprisingly well.

No, we didn't. We spread our upgrade points too thin trying stuff out and then it got too hard. This time I focused on a few things to really level them up and I paid closer attention to the actual combos my character could do. I'd love to try it co-op again though! But my kids are not up for this challenge lol
He has kind of a Mario look now that you mention it!
A great choice! Man, when that computer whistle thingy brings the melody in on the Tallon IV overworld song...it's so good. And the soundtrack did a great job of incorporating older melodies but making them its own, something Dread from last year struggled with. The song for Magmoor Caverns regularly pops into my head to this day.
Card Fighters Clash is the NeoGeo Pocket Color game I always hear about. I guess I should give it a look now that it's so accessible!
Dang, that is some good music! Both of those games are on Taito Legends 2, so I'll be getting to them at some point.
I have not played Metal Black but it's on Taito Legends 2, which I'll be getting into starting next week!
I wouldn't mind pre-made, handcrafted puzzles like this but not so much when under a time crunch as random blocks continue to fall.
I guess I've always been more of a Gradius guy
My kids played that Ben 10 game. It was a basic but competent brawler. It's weird how it seems, well, weird to have licensed games on consoles these days. Seems like they're all on phones now and that's not a bad thing lol. But it's nice there are some good ones still.
