I'll probably skip out on Mario Maker 3DS. They probably only made it since the 3DS is way more popular than the Wii U. I would skip out on the port of Yoshi's Woolly World, but they HAD to put a new amiibo in there... :)

No I don't think it's worth 400 bucks, but that's just because there aren't enough games that would interest me. I'm not an RE fan, but for some reason, I do like the character Jill Valentine. I don't really know why though. I like to call her Jill Sandwich.
I just played my first VR games at PAX West: a Rick and Morty title and Carnival Games VR. Check back at GamerDad.com later this week for my impressions of them.
Hey if you like Minecraft AND Dragon Quest, I've got a game for you. I just got back from PAX and played Dragon Quest Builders and I thought of you as that's basically what the game is.
Now that you've figured out how to get the 3DS eShop to work, if you get a chance, try out demos like Pocket Card Jockey and Phoenix Wright.
I have this game, it's pretty decent. Probably would be on a cell phone today, though. Octomania makes a cameo in the first Hyperdimension Neptuna game, as they share some of the same developement team.
Well if FF XV ends up being a disappointment to you, you can always fall back on World of Final Fantasy. I just played it at PAX West, and it's the Final Fantasy game that -I- want to play! It's like they made it just for me!
I like NIntendo because they make whimsical and fun games that fit me well. Lots of great handheld favorites. Some of mine include Link's Awakening, Kirby Anything, Wario Land 2 and 3, Shantae, Animal Crossing: New Leaf, the Phoenix Wright series, and many more.
I know that there is a NIntendo Direct about the 3DS today, but I thought I read somewhere that there's anoher NIntendo Direct on Sept. 9 that'll be about the NX.
