Team Meat Adds Super Tofu Boy to PC Version of Super Meat Boy

The newest Super Meat Boy character lacks protein, abilities.

In response to PETA's Super Tofu Boy Super Meat Boy parody game, Team Meat decided to incorporate Tofu Boy into their Steam PC version of Super Meat Boy.

The Team Meat blog has published the code "petaphile." Typing in the code on Super Meat Boy's character select screen will unlock the less athletic imitation Meat Boy. Unlocking Super Tofu Boy has the secondary effect of making one wonder, "If vegetarians don't like meat, why do they produce so many imitation products?"

In the blog, Team Meat thanks PETA for drawing recognition to Super Meat Boy, recognizing that PETA is a well-known, influential organization. Most notable, however, is that their Meat Boy parody plays more similarly to the original Meat Boy game than other parody games they have created in the past, though it still doesn't have the Meat Boy texture most people desire. Also notable, the blog makes it clear Meat Boy isn't a boy made of meat, but rather a boy without skin.

I have to wonder, if Tofu can take the shape of a boy to fall in love with Band-aid Girl, does that mean it is alive, and that it has feelings? Could PETA's message be more widespread than imagined, presenting the idea that tofu is murder?!

Nah, probably not.

One of the best F- yous to PETA I've seen in a long time. Bravo, Team Meat.

I'm just shocked that their parody game actually matches the real thing. Yes, I'm nearly certain I recall there being a Meat Boy stage editor, but even so, you know... that's shocking, considering it's PETA.

I thought the Cooking Mama PETA spoof was great. I wonder what game they will try to parody next.

I'm absolutely disgusted to see you people find this funny. Would you like to be sent to a slaughterhouse or used for sadistic science experiments?

You don't have to agree with PETA to show a little respect, but I guess I often forget how difficult that is for you guys to do.

It's not that I wasn't originally respectful of PETA, it's that they've been so disrespectful to so many different people, ideas, and institutions, that's it's difficult to treat them with anything much other than disdain.
