My next rental game is on the way and it's Tales of Berseria! I'm really going to have a tough choice this weekend with Halo Wars 2, still unwrapped, ready to go. I guess I'll start Tales first because I haven't booted up my PS4 in a while, and I miss it. Halo Wars 2 can wait because I own it, and it isn't going anywhere.
I was thinking today of how I played my first games. I think I played in a normal way back in the 80s. On Atari 2600, I played a lot of different stuff, but what I most played were simulations of the sports I was playing, tennis and baseball. Also, I didn't have all the consoles like I have today. I only had an Atari. My friends in the neighborhood had the other consoles, and I'd go there to play them. That's how I experienced the Intellivision and Colecovision. I would go to the arcades on the weekends to play the best that was available in gaming. Games were short and it was rare to spend more than an hour or two on any one game.
Only two monumental things happened to me this past weekend:
So, they are hiring for a new editor at Giant Bomb. For those who listen to Nerds Without Pants, you know how much I adore the Giant Bomb crew. I would LOVE that job. I think I could do that job. I don’t have a snowball’s chance in hell of getting that job.
So I figure I might wanna post now. Later I might not be able to nor even in my own mind. Im drinking so Ill probably be gone from reality. Regardless though, I hope yall have had a good day and Ill be back tomorrow.
And here is todays batch of games! Enjoy. Also even though I've fallen behind commenting and replying I plan to go on a marathon of commenting and replies this weekend.
So I more or less wrote NWP a blog post yesterday in the comments.
I listened to the NWP special podcast about the Switch as soon as I arrived at work this morning. I thought I had wanted it before, but now I don't know how I'm going to handle my existance for the next ten days.
I got it with trade-in money. I knocked down my Xbox 360 and Wii collections a bit to do it.
February must be Dragon Quest month for me. I finished DQ8 last night, I dont know if Ill be doing the post game content. I might consider the game beat and delete it off the 3DS. Those RPGs take up a lot of memory.
Those of us who read Nintendo Power in the early '90s probably have fond memories of the comics they ran back then. The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past and Super Mario World both had great comic adaptations that, while loose with the source material, were a ton of fun to read. Rereading them today, though, was an arduous task even if you still had your old issues of NP after all these years. But the Zelda comic was finally reprinted in 2015 and the Mario comic got the same treatment last October. I'm reading it right now and having a wonderful time. They put so much personality into the characters. I feel like if they made a comic for Mario today it would be a sterile corporate creation, but this comic is brimming with life all its own. And I had forgotten how awesome Peach—er, Princess Toadstool is in here. Great stuff.
It's the penultimate week of bad. Only 8 more days of February! Insane it's gone so fast. Anyways here's today's games!
I have always loved going to the movies. That was true as a kid, and remains so today. I know so many people prefer to wait for movies to come out on DVD or Netflix, because TVs are so big and vibrant now, and you don’t have to wait in line or deal with people, yadda, yadda, yadda.
I've put down Dragon Quest VIII for a while after a frustrating party wipe by Marcello. I didn't think I was going to have a problem given that my entire team is in the mid 50's as far as levels go and at first I was doing fine. Then he casts Thwack (insta-kill) two turns in a row and takes out everyone.
Hello everyone! I was out of town celebrating some birthdays this weekend so I missed my Friday post. Hope the weekend treated you all nicely.
