I hope everybody is enjoying their holiday today. I've actually enjoyed mine despite not feeling exactly in the holiday spirit this year.
...Not a lot of time and going somewhere tomorrow..Still got a few last minute things to finish..Plus a little clean up to get to..(Or it will be annoying when I get back to it tomorrow...)..Happy Holidays folks..~ Hopefully you've had a less hecktic one then I...
That title might scare you but it's just Mark and I playing Diablo III: Ultimate Evil Edition this Xmas eve. I had to work for three hours in the middle there, but I dashed back to his place and picked up where I left off, chasing the Dream Team achievement.
Just a quick blog since im on holidays and dont have my computer. I dont celebrate christmas really, but i know its important to a lot of you and i hope youre having a great time. I also know that despite (or perhaps because of) this seasons themes of merriment and togetherness, it can also be rough on a lot of those that dont have people to be with or cant be with them in general. To those of you, i want you to know that one of the best things about this small site is how close knit it is. It kind of feels like a weird little family of misfits, brought together by an extreme love of something. To that end, if youre feeling kind of down this holidays, please know that if you feel like shit, you can always talk to someone, even if we are just weird internet strangers. Ill be here to listen, and i know a lot of other people on this site feel the same way.
Pixlpeeps, I hope you didn't think I forgot about you good people. I've been kind of busy today but I needed to get a Christmas Eve Eve's Quick Hits up before Saturday when STORM WATCH 2016 continues. Yes if you haven't heard what is usually Sunny Southern California is rainy. For the past couple of days we had one storm, and tonight we are getting another storm. Actual rain, not the sprinkling that I like to joke about being STORM WATCH 2016. Anyways earlier today while there was no rain I decided to replace the light bulb above my shower because it went out and really who wants to shower when that area is dark? I don't like the new bulbs that have the prongs and little plastic wings that only fit into a certain socket. Seriously can we have a universal one like the screw-ons? Anyways let's get started with Quick Hits.
Merry Christmas everyone! It’s time for the annual tradition of my Pretend Christmas Present Party! Here’s how it works. In the comments section, give me a pretend Christmas present. It can be anything you want. It won’t cost you anything, and it’s the thought that counts…literally! And in return, when I reply, I’ll give YOU a pretend Christmas present, too! It’s fun when it’s fun. And I’ve got some extra Christmas goodies for you as well! More GamerDad.com reviews I’ve written recently! Yay, just what you always wanted…right? Well maybe not, but you’re getting them anyway! Please read as many as you can and maybe even post a comment or two. I’d really appreciate it.
In 1998 at the youthful age of 40 I was working the second shift at my place of employment (I'm still there!) My shift ended at 3:30 am. After driving home and showering and eating supper I would lay on the couch and watch infomercials. One day at walmart I saw an N-64 demo console with a playable demo of a Zelda game. I thought, this would be something I could do at 4:30 am while my family was still asleep. After reading up on video game consoles I decided to buy the N-64.
Really just another Random Stuff blog, just got bored using that for a title.
I did two things today: played a heap ton of Diablo III: Ultimate Evil Edition, and watched Star Wars: Rogue One for the second time.
...Not exactly "back" but thought I'd drop in and say..No I am indeed not dead..(But maybe a little on the inside..)Oh and apperently we're gonna do some baking soon-ish says mother..Might have to rush a bit with my Holiday doodles..No idea if I'll be able to do any for myself/for fun..Before the end of the year that is..But yes..It's feeling like that time of year again..Oh and also it's been pretty goddamn cold here..(Yes even for where I live..Might have to wear a jacket indoors finishing stuff..Been in the 30's and sometimes 20's a few times nightly...) I am in need of a warm mug o' somethin' soon..Stay toasty folks..~
Good morning Pixlpeeps and it is a chilly (43 degrees) here in sunny Southern California. I hope you good people had a wonderful weekend and are ready for the big Christmas week. I'm excited for Christmas and I already bought my gift for the gift exchange game. It's something that I like and even though the new rule of no gift cards (BOOOOOO) I'm ready and hopefully I can swipe something good. Anyways let's get started with the stuff I played.
After watching an episode of Skylanders Academy on Netflix today, I got a lot of time in with Diablo III: Ultimate Evil Edition.
Earlier this year I discovered a sci-fi author who has been around for a long time and is kind of a big deal, so I'm not sure how I never stumbled upon him before. His name is Vernor Vinge (VIN-gee) and I recently finished his book A Fire Upon the Deep. This 1993 Hugo-winning book did not disappoint, though the premise is a little hard to grasp. The galaxy is divided up into Zones of Thought. Basically, the farther out you get from the galactic core, the higher the level of technology and intelligence is possible. The center of the galaxy is called the Unthinking Depths, where conscious thought is not even possible. Next comes the Slow Zone. Space travel is possible here but not faster-than-light travel. Passed that is the Beyond, where marvelous technology flourishes, and finally, the Transcend, a place beyond the comprehension of normal humans. It sounds weird at first, I know, but Vinge really commits to the Zones and makes them so integral to the story that it simply would not be the same tale at all without them.
December has been a very busy month for me not only with the holidays but actually trying to keep a set streaming schedule (which has been hard with having a sinus infection for a few weeks and feeling extremely crummy along with living with a busy family that is very go-go-go). Thankfully I went to the doctor this past Monday and finally got meds. I am feeling so much better my ears and head don't hurt anymore!.
There is what nine days left until Christmas, and sixteen days until I have to stop listening to my Christmas music. I have to say I would have listened to a lot more if not for A Very Kacey Christmas CD. That album is easily 90% of my holiday music. Good morning Pixlpeeps how are you? It is a very cloudy day here in my piece of Southern California because last night we had rain! In fact most of California had rain. On Twitter I saw that there is a hashtag “LARain” which means everyone is driving like it is the apocalypse. I wish there was more rain because I like using my beat up Nike boots in bad weather. Anyways let's get started with Quick Hits!
Couldn't stop thinking about the Midway Arcade Level Pack I wanted from Lego Dimensions, plus I was bored, so I went to Toys R Us hoping they still had their sale. They didn't. So I went to BestBuy around the corner. They did. I got it for $17 instead of $30. Yeah!
I think it's avalable on 360 and Xbox One so if you haven't played it yet there's no excuse.
Greetings Pixlbit and Welcome to the Fourth Annual Chris Goes All Awards Show. I almost forgot that the year is almost over and before I get caught up in the rush of finding gifts for people and wrapping things I might as well get my awards show going. This year wasn't as active as last year because I think I played longer games, and stuck playing those games instead of jumping from one game to the next. The question will be will any game top this favorite from last year
Good morning Pixlpeeps. The weather here in sunny Southern California has been odd. Last week it was cool, and now its going to be in the 70s today and because of all this, I'm starting to fight a cold. Yeah it sucks but what can you do? Before all of this, I did continue to play some games and I thought I'd share what I played up until last night.
Played Diablo III: Ultimate Evil Edition all day today on XBO. I chose the Witch Doctor character because I wanted one that could conjure minions. The whole time I couldn't stop singing this old novelty song, Witch Doctor, from 1958. Check it out.
