Cleaned up my desk. Things are going more smoothly. Training is done, aside from the Classic Hits shifts this weekend, and I have Monday off for MLK Day. My news and sports director is some combination of drunk and hungover, even though he keeps denying it. Yet he says he's been drinking beer and liquor since 11am. Well, at least his eyes aren't closed. Just narrow. Maybe he's not intoxicated, but it is funny, provided he doesn't drive if he is. I get off at 10pm, once I train the guy at 8pm. From then on, I'm free before 5pm, except for emergencies.
Again I was at the local GoodWill looking for games. There was Neves but I wasn't interested in that sort of puzzles but then I found this:
Hey Pixlbit! It is a nice Friday morning here in sunny Southern California, and I decided to scrap my first version of this week’s Quick Hits for this version. See I had this whole Uber Pickups blog, but I wasn’t happy with it, so instead I am going to just focus on the one big find this week. No worries though, you’ll see the games I bought since the last Quick Hits later on when I do mini reviews on them. For this week’s Quick Hits I’ve decided to focus on my crazy music pickups I’ve had which I like to call Chris Hits The CD Gold Mine. Kind of like the time when I bought a bunch of records at Goodwill, I think I had one hell of a find when I went to visit the local mom & pop music store. Sound good? Well heck, let’s get this party started!
My first console was a Nintendo Entertainment System – a system I purchased in 1987 from months of saving allowance, birthday money, and various bribes from my parents. My first videogame adventures were with Mario, Link, and Samus. They say the first impressions are the longest left, and I tend to agree. My first years of gaming were by far the most magical; shaping my perceptions of games and culture for years to come.
I will try my best to play through this game. I am glad it is free because I would never have wasted my money on this piece of crap. Really, the game starts out with him nude, which verified my stereotype of Male stripper with daddy issues.... The art style is sub-par and minimal at best, although I do enjoy the music during the first chapter. Will I enjoy the rest of the game? maybe not but hey, like I said it was free.
I still don't want to commit to BaD, because the month of February seems to be when things kick into gear for my school and workload. I'm going to try to do it, but no official announcements will come from me.
If you go to add or update a blog today, you'll notice a new feature that I just added. The dropdown "Link to Series..." will allow you to tie your blog into an article series that we're running on the main site. For instance, if this were E3 and you wanted to write a blog about E3, you could choose to link it to the article series and under the designated "Event" page, your blog would show up there!
Just a quick couple of things as long as I am thinking about it. I have not had a chance to put much of any time into The Banner Saga. The title screen is really nice, but that is about as far as I have gotten. Since I quit Cookie Clicker I have returned my laptop to its original storage place under the couch. It usually sits there until I get the urge to update my phone with more Doctor Who. So, I will have to make an extra special effort to pull out the Banner Saga and sadly I do not see that happening anytime soon... I just remembered that I have MLK day off so maybe I will test it out then.
Yes, this blake-tastic hunk of steel is joining BaD. It shall be fun. I'm thinking about putting out a bunch of lists, like best fps games, best rpgs, etc. Should be fun!
This is what I'll be talking about. I thought about taking the debate to Kat Bailey herself but in the end I do not have the heart to direct anger at someone I knew at 1up who wrote blogs about rpgs I really enjoyed.
Hey guys and girls! So tonight I'm jumping into the world of Assassin's Creed 4, as well as Contrast - an indie PS4 title that seems pretty interesting. Feel free to join me here.
You can follow me on Twich @ Vicroman
You can watch me on PS4 @ RicVoman
RETRO FEVER is upon me and some new purchases have just rolled in for Sega Genesis and Playstation. Feast your eyes.
With the release of the new consoles, and my non-readiness to go next gen, I’m taking the opportunity the clear out some of that crusty ol’ backlog.
Hey guys, PB's Game of the Year article is up! Check it out and let us know what u think and what your games of the year are!
I'm terrible at puns, or am I unconsiously great at making terrible puns? I'm not sure.
Just to make this official I'll be joining Snee for BaD here at Pixlbit to carry on the tradition started at 1UP
Im currently working on a blog that hopefully Ill finish an post tonight. On another note, while at work twitter alerted me of new Nintendo Club Reward and its looks like a great one. I currently have one ordered.
