I've always felt that mankind, as civilized as we are, still consists of savages. Back in our neanderthal days, mankind consisted of brutal warriors who traveled in packs and went after other men who weren't in their tribe. Fighting for survival and wearing nothing but skins, our ancestors were just like the animals we see in the jungle. Of course, over the years, we have learned to be civilized, some more than others, but we still wage wars and love to fight. Many UFC haters call MMA "animals fighting in front of animals" and that kind of hit home. We still have that savagery of our past in us but we only bring it out on occasion and usually in private. What would happen if we take that delicate balance between savagery and civilized behavior and put a nice Zombie Apocalypse in the mix? What you get is The Last Of Us.
Anybody here into Penny Arcade's Strip Search reality show? I can't say I'm a big fan of reality TV, but they really did this one right. In any event, if you're up-to-date on the show, will you be checking out the finale tonight? Any one in particular you're rooting for? Was there a contestant who already lost that you were really bummed to see go? (If you're not up-to-date on the show, you might want to stop reading here).
This is the follow-up to last week's "VG Movie Week" (btw, thank you to everyone who read and commented, I really enjoyed doing them). Most VG movies are terrible. Very few are fantastic (such as the Professor Layton movie or the Phoneix Wright movie which was released only in Japan, I heard it was awesome). All of this VG movie talk got me thinking about games that have never had movie adaptions, but really should. I mean seriously, these games deserve movie adaptions! Here's three big ones:
The Big Bang Theory isn't funny. It's written by Chuck Lorre, how could it be? I mean this guy created Two and a Half Men, a show that seemed to be written by an five year old child with down syndrome. So why is it so popular?
So I was on Amazon looking something up when I noticed an item called Metal Gear Solid: The Legacy Collection. What's that, I wonder.
Well I'm on holidays from University at the moment, having finished the last of my exams and assignments and whatnot. So what shall I do with my rather large amount of free time? Well, I decided I was going to immerse myself into a universe! A universe that spans two games (soon to be three) and seven books. That's right, it's The Witcher universe!
Well...Started to dabble in other hobbies whilst still thinking and planning on stuff related to drawing on the side (I know I'll definetly have something to watch for the Summer anime season..~) and brushes like these will come in handy to play with..~ (Also in future experiments.) But dang...Middle of the month came fast..Guess it's a good thing a lot of the games I'd like to play aren't out(Or even confirmed for the U.S as of yet..) One fun thing I found while browsing Deviantart recently was this fabulous cake..~
Well guys, you can forget every xbox game you saw at E3, because they weren't running on xbox's, nope, they were running on high end pc's with better graphics cards than the xbox had. Not only that, but they were running their competitors graphics cards!
This console war has been a battle of ideals not substance.
You heard correct Microsoft must be trying to make up for all there crap. Anyway Fable III is free for digital download on Xbox live marketplace so get it before they end this deal.
I've been awake for approximately 30 odd hours... editing videos of Piano recitals... I'm struggling to type and to make sense of this insane trail my brain is leading me on.
I've seen quite a bit, and contributed to, Xbox One hate these past couple of weeks. From the sound of the internet, it would appear that no one will be buying an Xbone on day one, and that 100% of consumers will be heading over to Sony's shores.
Life has been quite busy for the last couple of weeks. You might have noticed that I missed posting last week's OCR Spotlight. There's just too much going on right now and I'm having trouble keeping up. Hence why the recap of last month is just now going up. But better late than never, I guess?
Sid Meier's Ace Patrol came out for iOS in early May and I just found out about it. It's a weird coincidence since I was thinking about the old board game Fight in the Skies, a WWI air battle game, recently and was trying to think of any video game that would be close to it. Well, this Firaxis game is it.
I've gotten into the habit of posting music on Sundays and since playing the beta, the music got stuck in my head. Here are some personal selections from the new game.

I'm not a massive fan of movies. They need to be experienced in a single sitting, and the meticulously crafted world that you fell in love with is over within two hours. I much prefer video games, and television series for their ability to draw me in for hours and hours, and gifting me with the ability to leave whenever I wish. Since I already talk about video games enough, here are four new shows you need to watch ASAP!
I had a very successful yard saleing experience yesterday which while long and boring for the most part culminated in me finding this. I found it with 6 Genesis games and the two N64 games you see beside it. I works perfectly and Pikachu's cheeks light up when you start it. :) As much as I'd like to hang on to it I will be selling as soon as I find the right buyer.
I feel a bit guilty producing this part of the countdown. I realize just how little I remember about games on this part of the list. Fully half of them- I couldn't recall even one memorable moment. These are the games that aren't broken or even particularly bad; they just don't have much to recommend them. If you are paying attention and reading these blurbs that I've worked on so dilligently, you'll be hearing that fairly often until around the top 150. I recall playing them; I recall having opinions; I just don't recall a damn thing about them. If I didn't keep all my old notebooks, I might not have been able to cobble together a coherant list that ranks them in relation to one another. Meh. When I return to the top 100, the blurbs will become more informative. Until then, I'm glad I could help you waste five minutes.
Yep, here it is. Obligatory E3 roundup, coming your way. From a JRPGer's perspective, here's the highlights (and lowlights), starting with the Big 3 (essentially- 2 since Nintendo was via Nintendo Direct):
